What's the schedule replacement of the timing belt in a 1998 Dodge Neon? Also, when the water pump goes out and coolant is leaking, does the timing belt need to be changed too.

80-100,000 is a good idea. absolutely replace the timing belt at the same time. it'soff anyway and soaked with coolant. cheap insurance!

Im wondering when i should change my timing belt and pulley i have a 1998 neon r/t dohc with 94k?

You need to inspect it for "wear" and see how it looks!
I heard between 100-120k and my 98 Breeze has 112k
and showing some wear. Also should change the water
pump too at that time too!

How do you fix timing gear

Timing Gear...? when you say gear, it usually is gear/chian configuration. Neon has a timing belt and unless something realy strange happened, you wil never need to repalce/repair a timing gear.

Changing a timing belt is not to terribly hard (well, its all relative to how mechanically inclined you are)

If you want to change the belt, let me know, I can give you instructions (best thing is to get a book thought, they have pictures that are worth a 1000 words!!)

1998 dodge neon. Engine tries to start , but won't catch.

The timing belt may not be broken, but is it missing any teeth, sounds like it has jumped timing,i would remove the cover and inspect it real good.

97 Neon Expresso, Schreeching Fan

Both your air con and defogger (I am assuming you mean front windshield defroster setting, and not the back window) engage the air conditioner pump/compressor.

The screeching can be either a bad belt or a bad compressor.

How long has it been since the belt was changed? If it is old, and slipping, it will cause the screech at speed.
If the belt has recently been changed, and is adjusted properly, I would start looking that the air compressor pump.

Cooling fan relay 1998 neon

on the left(driver's) side of the lower rad support. It's a small flat relay with a plug on the bottom and usually has a blue colored front. held on by two screws. Also, there may be more rad fan relays in the underhood fuse/relay box.
Good luck.
