I would go to an electrical supply house and tell them what size wires that I wanted to connect. They sell a u-bolt that would work pretty well for splicing the big cable back together. You would have to tape it up with electrical tape.

I cut the 4 wires going to the onstar speaker thing

You need an auto-electrician. When you cut those wires, you momentarily shorted the power across all 4 wires with whatever you used to cut them.

Then when you disconnected the battery, you disconnected the alarm and immobilizer. On reconnection, the system is lost.

Moral of the story, don't cut wires.

During the replacement of my 2000 Acura RL rear view mirror, I cut the wires and now my wipers, windows, and gauge cluster doesn't work. I checked the fuses for each and there good. Must be something in...

Did you resplice the cut wires with solder and shrink wrap - try that first. Then reset the car by disconnecting battery for 30 minutes and reconnect. You want the ecm to re-boot.

I have a 2002 trailblazer. ..A couple weeks ago I came home to find that my battery had been stolen . They took it by cutting all the wires that led to battery. I replaced the wiring harness and I'm...

If you don't have power to the starter or headlights, they may have blown a major fuseable link. You'll need to track the power from the positive battery post to the main fuses. Also make sure the battery is grounded to the frame and also the engine.

Negative battery terminal

normally there is only one earth wire on a battery as all units earth through this wire to the negative terminal. I would not bother trying to reconnect the cut wires as this will lead to problems further on. Go to a wrecker that handles you model vehicle and get the positive terminal wiring loom and replace all the cut wires . Leave the negative terminal off while you are doing this.

Hi, I have a 1995 Toyota 4runner... That said, I'm

Well if they were able to cut this wire, I am assuming they were able to get into the car? But if your dad can open the hood and take the negative wire cable off of the battery then he can bridge the wire that was cut, hopefully.

He will need a small wire clamp kit that they can get at an AutoZone or Atuo Parts store. After he fixes the wire that was cut, he will need to disconnect the positive wire cable from the battery and then reconnect both of them. that should keep the alarm from going back off, however it may reset the system. Either way if he has the spare remote they should be back in business and can get your care moved and the alarm to work again.

Good Luck!
