Did you change the filter and the 5 qts of fluid or have the whole system purged with 13 qts and no filter? Did you use the right fluid? Did you check the fluid after driving the car a few miles? How was it running before the change? It is possibly coincidence that the tranny is not shifting, The fluid change would not cause that unless you didn't put in enough fluid or you put in the wrong stuff. The first sign of low fluid is not shifting, check it out, hope this helps.
You check the trans fluid while the engine is running. The dipstick will be going into the trans. When you pull the dipstick out wipe it, put it back in then pull it back out. There will be an area of xxxxx or /////. This is your safe area. Use the same spout the dipstick goes in to fill with trans fluid by using a funnel.
If it's a stander transmission you add under your truck on the side of the transmission where it reads fill, if it's automatic it's has to have and dip stick for that year truck.could be missing check the side of transmission above transmission pan toward the front for a hole where the tube goes in, it would also be leaking if gone.
You add and check the Transmision level at the dipstick location, remove the dipstick and use a funnel to add trasmission fluid, the vehicle should be running and at operating temperture as you check the fluid level for a proper reading.
there is no dipstick for the forenza automatic transmission. it is checked like a
manual transmission. You have to remove the fill plug and add some until it drizzles out. also it uses a special fluid that you can only get at the
dealer.....
because of the sensitivity of some of these higher end cars i strongly recomend that you take this car to the dealer and allow a jaguar trained tech instruct you on this. youll be happier for it.
You might welded up your trasmission with no fluid you probly had dry rotted transmission line If fluid leaking you dont drive it you stop. You could add fluid after you find the rotten transmission line replace it ow that fun i done this before. Find the rotten line ore leak fix it cross your fingers add right fluid level and see if goes in gear also use correct fluid for that car all car take diffferent fluids types
generally camrys are automatic and if so the fluid goes right into where the dipstick came out of. be sure to add it slowly so it does not come up the dipstick and flood out and be careful not to overfill it.
