2002 porsche boxster brake lights not working.

I've also got the brake-light problem. I think it's something funny with the electronic control unit, as the top is refusing to move and the gear selector is locked now too... Weirdness

SOURCE: manually openning the trunk of a 2002 porsche boxster

It can only be done using the key fob. Othersise use button inside the car. If your battery is flat you need a donor battery wiring to a connection in the fuse box (positive) anf door lock(negative) but see your hand book.

SOURCE: Compurter says PSM and ABS failure

Hi,

Just had same problem this morning. I had noticed that the satnav was malfunctioning (i.e. developed a mind of its own!!) a couple of days ago and then this morning PSM/ABS failure......marvellous!! Anyway, simply disconnected battery, waited 10-15 mins, reconnected battery and hey presto my boxster fired up. However the PSM failure message still showed, so took it for a spin around the block and the message disappeared and, touch wood, everything seems back to normal. I think it must have been a battery problem, so just to safe I am going to get a new battery and hopefully I can look forward to years of trouble free motoring.....one day with the roof down!!!! (Where has the sunshine gone!!!????)

To close the top, the parking brake must be engaged and the ignition in the ON position. Assuming that these conditions are met, you can close the top manually if needed. The procedure involves (1) removing key, (2) removing convertible top link covers, (3) gently prying conv top lid links on both side, (4) lifting the conv top lid to open position, (5) gently prying the red links off, and (6) finally manually lifting the top to the closed position.

Before taking such measures, if you do not hear the motors, check the B6 and D3 relays. You might also want to check the microswitch on the top/center windshield frame.

Brake lights not working

A few things to check:

1. I had a car burn out both brake lights at the same time. Be sure both bulbs are good.

2. Did you verify the fuse didn't blow again? If it's blown you'll need to track down the short.

3. The next ting to check is the switch that activates the lights when the brake pedal is pushed.

Brake Light on Dash

Have you tried bleeding the brakes? Sometimes air in the lines causes the break trouble light to come on.

When locking/unlocking my porsche boxster S 2002 tiptronic with the remote control (whose battery is brand new) the hazard lights do not flash (but the alarm is working fine)???

I just got one today. To get it to hunk and flash, press the lock bottom once, wait 1second and press it again.

If that does not work...go see the dealer..

2002 Porsche Boxster - had squealing coming from

Mine did that off and on for a month with no other problems then it started making a loud suction noise and the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they said the "oil separator" needed to be replaced.
After the repair I never heard the squealing again.
