Question about Lexus LX 470

I can't open the door from the inside, on my 2000 Lexus Suburban. I went to open the door handle, heard a click, and can't open door. I can still open from outside, just not the inside.

The linkage is either broken or come apart , remove he door handles and cover to inspect the fault. Be careful when removing the dust cover so as not to damage it,if damaged dust can enter the cabin.

The cable from the door handle to the door lock has either broke or the plastic retaining clip has snapped ,either way take the door panel off and have a look to verify exactly what is wrong

The cable runs from the latch to the handle, it sounds like the cable broke off one end or fell off,

this truck uses cables instead of metal rods to open the latch, remove the door panel and see if the cable fell off handle area or latch,,
the cable operates the inside door handle and sometimes the outside handle but very rare that it operates the out side handle to open door.

1996 chevy suburban inside drivers door handle will not open the door
Very common problem on these door handles(my 99 Chevy work truck went through 7 of these).rockauto.com has them for a reasonable price,not too hard to replace.I got so fed up with the handle breaking off that I made a replacement out of steel(I probably open the door 200 times in an average work day).

Open a suburban door when both handles are broke
ok easy to fix. remove door panel. when u have the replacement parts. start with the outside handle, remove the bolts, undo the bar, remove the handle. same with the inside handles

Drive side front door latch no longer works
Replace the inner door handle. the dealer will have it in stock, just tell him the interior color. Real Common.

95 lexus ls400.passenger door wont open from the inside or out
A couple of questions... one when you attempt to open the handle? is there any kind of resistence? like a normal handle would have? or does it just flop?

If it flops, you probably have a loose linkage inside the door that conenct the lock to the handle.

Inside driver's door handle won't open door. Over the past week it seemed like the door didn't open until the handle was pulled further and further back as time went on. Now it is just"floppy" and won't...
you will have to remove the door panel. It is likely the metal rod inside from latch to handle is jarred or fell off. The panel will pry off if you remove all the screws in the door panel and remove lock and window controls.

Unable to open driver side door with inside latch on my 1997 chevy suburban. How to take off inside panel to see mechanism? Outside handle open the door okay.
take the bezel off around th door handle. take the screw out of the armrest. pull out the window switches and pull out on the door handle and pull up .disconnect the last two plugs then you can see the whole door handle

Broken passenger door handle
Same problem. I have a 2000 Suzuki Esteem GL. A year ago the driver's door handle broke. Heard a sound and then it was loose. Could not open it from outside. Had to open front passenger door, open the driver's door from inside and then go out again to enter from the driver's door. FRUSTRATING. My mechanic had to take the door apart to fix it. Just a week ago, my front passenger door died on me. Can't open it from outside nor inside. The door won't open. This is such a stupid problem that costs lots to repair. Never will buy a Suzuki again. Had too many problems with it (had to fix gas tank, doors that won't open, front axle...).

Drivers side door, not opening
VERY common issue.. the handle being replaced is ok.. but the actual metal rod that connects it to the latch needs bent a little to make it more responsive, what happens is over time this rod (which is bent slightly) will straighten, and the operator pulls harder on the handle which eventually brakes.. then replacing the handle will solve it for a while, until the trend repeats itself... VERY common, I have fixed hundreds in the shop so far...
