My 2001 L Series Saturn ran out of gas, then after 1 gallon of gas was added to the tank, the engine would not turn over. Any suggestions for how to get it to start?

The fact that it won`t turn over is just a coincedent it happened when you ran out of gas.i`m assuming that you mean the motor won`t turn over at all and not that you mean it will turn over and not start.if it is the latter then the fuel needs time to fill the lines and pressurize the fuel system while cranking over.

2001 Saturn L-series Fuel gauge shows empty when tank is full

I had similar problem on my 2001 L200. Found that problem was carbon build up on sending unit in gas tank. Added 1bottle of Lucas Oil Deep Clean Fuel System Cleaner to full tank of gas. Problem solved. I would try this first I could save you a bunch of money.

Ran out of gas and now it won't start after adding 5 gallons

the fuel pump is cooled by gas so if u run it low alot or {OUT} it can burn it up
keep that tank at 1/4 or u will pay!!!

2009 chevy aveo ran out of gas now it wont crank

No crank to a mechanic means the starter motor doesn't spin the engine over, is this what you mean? Or do you mean the engine cranks over but will not fire up and run? If it is the latter have you added at least 3 gallons of gas to the tank to make sure the electric fuel pump inside the tank can properly prime? If not do that, also you can spray starting fluid into the engine engine air intake pipe after adding the 3 gallons and see if that gets it going. If it still will not start you have burned up the fuel pump and you will need to drop the fuel tank and replace the pump, remember the pump is cooled and lubricated by the gasoline it runs in, so when you run low on fuel or out you can very quickly severely damage the small electric fuel pump. Never let the gas gauge level go below 1/8 tank to prevent premature fuel pump failure.

I have a 2001 saturn that ran out of gas put gas in it wont fire up checked the fuel line presure release no gas in the line checked fuse all good..... do you think its the fuel pump?

THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP IN THIS CAR IS IN THE GAS TANK AND IT IS COOLED BY THE FUEL IT RUNS IN, WHEN U RUN OUT OF GAS YOU SEVERLY OVERHEAT THE PUMP AND THEY SEIZE UP, WHICH IS WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOUR PUMP, U WILL NEED TO REMOVE THE GAS TANK AND REPLACE THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP.

Ran out of fuel, added ten gallons it will not

Have someone listen near that gas-tank when you turn the key to the on position and see if they can hear the hum of the fuel pump. Running out of gas is hard on the pumps.

Try cranking it a bit for there could be a little air in the line aswell.

2001 L200 ran out of gas

You will need about 2 gallons of gas to get the car started. Also have the front of the car lower than the rear. I have had the problem with mine. If I am low on gas, I get the car on a downhill slope, and it starts right up and I get straightaway to the gas station.
