A rod connects the inner door handle to the lock mechanism. Possibly the window off track damaged the rod or knocked it off where it attaches to the lock or the handle. To check this you must remove the inner door panel. I suggest you check "you tube" to see if there are any vids on the procedure.. if not go purchase the Chilton manual or take the car to a serviice center. It will be at lease 2 hours of labor + any needed parts. the window can be repaired at the same time since the inner panel will be removed.
R/R the inner door panel, slide the window back on track, reconnect the window transmission to the window, (or reinstall the trans) bolt everything back together (window motor, window trans to door etc.) Make sure the window is in the UP position. use the switch to raise the window & keep it up if all is back together before finally installing the door panel ( make sure the switch & other plugs are plugged in before the door panel is reinstalled.) Lights etc. Good luck
I believe you have something broken inside the door. If you remove the inside door panel and plastic cover, and take a good flashlight, try it and see if you can tell what is broken. Sounds like the regulator has broken, at least in part. Be blessed.
remove the door panel. it may have come off track. go to any auto parts store and buy a haynes manual for your specific car. they are based on a complete teardown of vehicle. this book will show how to remove door panel. they are about 20 to 25 dollars.
You need to remove inner door panel by unscrewing the screws on inner door handle and take a flat screw driver wedge it between the panel and door use flash light to see the clips along the sides and lower part of door and pry them free. then look through the inner door cut outs to find window track. Once you see it use ratchet or screw driver and loosen the window free form track. Then carefully remove window.
You will have to take inner door panel off and check what moves or doesn't move when trying to use window. It could be off track, something broke or the cable for the window motor is bad. The only way to tell is to look once the panel is off.
There is always some way to get to the screws. So if they are not obvious you need to look for circles that can pop off with a screw driver or hidden places like under the handle or in the side pocket or even the outter edge when you open the door.
Removing a door panel is easy. First locate all of the screws and remove them, some will be hidden under plastic covers. Next take a door panel tool (about $5.00 at a parts store) work it around the panel to find the plastic keepers, carefully pop out the keepers, the keepers will need to be replaced just try not to damage the panel, you can buy need keepers at part stores or even hardware stores.
Remove the upholster on the door panel. then, loosen the bolt of the window mechanism..and also the bolt of the track of the window, so you can put the window back on its track. then, you can stabilize it by looking for the right adjustment of the mechanism.
