Does the engine temperature getting up to normal range? If the thermostat is removed, or stuck open the engine temperature sensor will not allow the transmission to go into overdrive since it thinks the car is too cold

  • Anonymous Mar 15, 2011

A faulty tengine temperature sensor will also cause this fault, along with causing a rich mixture

We just bought a 93 toyota corolla. Even when I have the overdrive engaged it keeps flashing O/D Off does this mean it is going out Thanks T

If it is flashing then it is a malfunction indicator. Think of it as a "check transmission light." It could be anything from a loose connection in the shifter to a bad transmission. How does it drive? Is it shifting into overdrive?

Toyota corrola Ae100 automatic gearbox not engaging any gears. terrible noise coming beneath the car. whie in the park position the vehicle still moving. Grinding noise when gear lever is put back into...

Have the transmission repaired or replaced. The shift arm that shifts the gears is probably broken. That is why you cannot switch gears and is making that noise.

What is the code 12 for 5e engine for toyota corolla AE100

The Code 12 on your Corolla it refers to a problem with the Rpm signal from the distributor, I recommend you to replace the distributor, make sure that is complete with the coil and igniter installed, you can save quite a bit of money by getting one from a salvage yard or an aftermarket unit from a local auto supply store !

I have a 1992 Toyota Corolla and The overdrive will not engage

not usually close to the ac it is likely eithor the od button is dosconected burnt or blew a fuse

rarely is the selinoid a fault

but if you know where the selinoid is run a direct line to it using speaker wire engage it and see if it works
if it does try and track the circut failing that run a line arround it and make it manule

Delay engagement of transmission

I would get the auto transmission "power flushed"; that will remove all of the dirty oil and any contaminents. That is the first thing to do, and usually works pretty good. Let us know how it turns out., Thanks.

1996 Corolla Auto Transmission problem

Hi. 2005 Corolla CE. It's normal. They tend to do this when upshifting form 1st to 2nd gear. No timing chain readjustment needed.

96 Corolla. Overdrive not working properly, if not engaging after 45mph constantly. If driving on the city, is normal, but not after 45mph, when the car is trying to engage overdrive in order to save gas and preserve the trans gears. If not able to get help at the dealership, find another one and explain them the situation.
