The module is bad. needs a new abs pump. to temporary remedy it find the pump and disconnect its plug. be careful as the abs now is not working ( not that it was before) and incase of full breaking car will lock and slide tires. take it to a shop to get replaced.

I took my 2004 Altima to the shop and was quoted $2000 to repair the ABS brakes system, I pulled the 10 amp fuse. I no longer have ABS brakes but works like any brake system before ABS brakes were standard equipment.

2004 nissan maxima stopped running

Just wondering why the alternator and fuel pump have been replaced ... seems expensive if they were not at fault, which they clearly didn't fix your issue.
Have you a spark at the plugs?
Does it fire up with brake cleaner/ether in the air intake? if it does, you have spark.
Got any pulses going to the ignition coils ...
Does the fuel pump work for a few seconds when you turn the ignition just before the engine cranks ...
Fault codes were what ...

Where is the abs relay located on a 05\ maxima

It's inside the ABS pump module assembly. It inside the hermetically sealed black plastic case attached tot he ABS pump module. There is no repairing it. The ABS pump module must be replaced. The part costs $1200. Sorry.

Abs actuator keeps running after shut off engine you will have to disconnect the battery

the pump relay contacts are stuck together.unfortunately they are integral to the controller/actuator unit.$$$$$$$$$.you could try tapping on unit with small hammer to see if the vibration will separate them.

My abs light is on after I changed my brakes I changed my brakes because the abs was kicking in for some reason unknown and now the light is on and I don't know why 2004 Nissan maxima 3.5 se

If the ABS light is on, it's a good idea to find out what codes are stored.

The OBD-II system allows many codes to be read but a specialist with an ABS BrakeScan tool will be needed in order to find the codes for the ABS system for your vehicle.

I bought a Brakescan tool that works on most Ford, Chrysler, and GM vehicles from 1996 through 2005 but, I don't think it will work with the Nissan Maxima.

So, that's why I would direct you to the dealer for this one.

2004 Nissan Maxima ABS light stays on, what do I replace?

you need to run a scan to see what is wrong. it could be a wheel sensor or the abs pump. This is a realatively new vehicle and i would think something is blocking a wheel sensor from reporting info to the computer. some times things build up around the sensor and block it. or if there has been a recent accident one could be damaged and the shop didn't catch it. these parts really dont fail this quick look for something else. remove the wheels and look for a ring with a lot of teeth on the back side of the assembly. follow an electrical wire it will take you to the sensor which will be next to a ring with many teeth. The sensor recognizes the teeth moving and reports to the computer when they stop moving and that is when the abs starts pulsing the brakes for that wheel. if something gets in the way the sensor sees nothing and the light comes on. if this helps please reply cause that helps me keep answering here and good luck

2004 nissan maxima...can hear the abs pump while driving and sounds like grinding when braking at low speeds. Is this pump issue or sensor? What causes this to happen?

hi from uk the only thing i would be concerned about at this moment is the grinding when brakes applied ? this sounds very much like your brake pads are very low and most likely worne to the point of damage(grinding metal to rotor contact) is the sound you hear also the abs will sense this and due to unbalance of braking to each wheel abs will operate however i would have thought your car may have low pads warning indicator light system fitted but may not ? may i suggest considering age and possible high milage of your car ? if you have not had pads inspected recently? you do so asap b4 you drive any distance especially at speed ?
