Sounds like a ground problem allowing a back feed issue.

Make sure your battery is grounded to the engine and frame.

SOURCE: 2003 Jeep Liberty heater fan problem

It is the blower motor resistor. Look under the passanger side dash and locate the fan housing (looks round and black in color. Then locate the resistor it will be in that housing usually withtwo ten millimeter nuts or two simple screws holding it in. unplug the harness to the resistor and remove the resistor. Part store price is approx. 50.00. Note: on aftermarket (not Jeep) resistor sometimes you have to modify the housing a little to get it in. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: how to replace rear brake pads on 2005 jeep liberty

put the back of car on jack stands and secure the front tires so it does not roll and then remove the bolts off the back of the caliper there is normally two one at top and one at bottom and spray it with some kind of oil for rust and make sure you have the right size socket before you try to loosen them and once caliper is off and the old pads removed take one of the old pads and squeeze the piston on the caliper back in by using a "C" clamp and also remove some of the brake fluid from the master cylinder before you do this put the new ones back on and check the brake fluid and make sure it is full and then pump the brakes to make sure you have a good pedal also put some "No Squeak" brake stop on the back of the pads so they don't squeak they will have that where you buy the pads from

SOURCE: How to replace reak brake rotors on Jeep Liberty

Replace rear rotors on 04 liberty.
Remove tire & wheel
Remove brake caliper, tie up out of way.
Back off e-brake shoe adjustment.
Remove factory spring clip from lugs (2places)
This is the crude part....
After attempting to pull off disc/drum with puller....I got pretty sick of it. Understand this is in the Northeast with lots of salt on the roads in winter. Needless to say there is a ridge of rust around the inside edge of the e-brake surface. Any more pressure and I was afraid of damage to the e-brake shoe asembly. I then took a small grinder with a cut off wheel and cut the disc thru (used space where caliper usually sits). Also cut nearly through the face between 2 lugs. You can't quite get thru the back corner at the disc. Since the material is cast iron it will crack when you drive a wedge in the slot cut in the disc. This opens the housing around the shoes and it slides off easily. The cutting operation took less than10 mins, alot less than the puller with hammer assist!
I know this is a bit "unorthodox" to say the least, however the object is to remove the old junk disc safely and as quickly as possible, without harming the e-brake parts inside.
Install new parts in reverse order, new pads go in easy after squeezing the caliper piston back with a c clamp as is the normal procedure.

I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty. My key light on the dashboard is blinking. Does that mean the vehicle is in anti theft mode? How can I fix it without having to take it to a dealership?

well you can't (ignition key)
not old doors fail unlock or ignition key, both are secure.

the IMMO lamp means key is bad or 3 modules behind it are bad.
car came new with 2 good keys.lost the 2nd ?
never have just 1 or 2 keys have 3.
in USA we (DIY) can make 3 and up to 8 or more
if 2 are good.

the battery in the fob only runs the buttons not the key
the key is passive, the key slot uses RF active radio
to talk to the passive key
the cars main battery must be good

wow, not told yet what the key does,
does the engine crank fast or not./
most immo block injectors,
did your key block cranking too?

try to post more clearly
I take 1 of 2 keys and insert it in the ignition= key slot
i turn the key to ON and cranks fast but the IMMO lamp flashes wrong, (my users manual told me what to do)
so do it.
all my jeeps all block fuel injection IMMO failed
I have 4 keys, 2 from jeep new, car, and 2 more I made DIY
\the USA manual tells how to make key3 to8.
but the canada car you can not do that. by their laws there.

be clear next time
doors do not unlock (any) or some (coin cell dead)
engine will not start???? NOT TOLD yet.
IMMO lamp not happy

2003;Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4, anti theft issues..... Copy of Key , I don't have the key fob

Start with this

If You want to reset the alarm on the Jeep Liberty then You will need to follow these steps. To begin You will want to get into the Jeep and close the doors. Now hold down the control door lock button for 30 seconds. Once You have done this insert the key into the ignition and turn it on. Once it has been turned on You will want to turn it back off, and then back to one again. This will cause the security light to start blinking. While it is doing that turn the Jeep on and the system will be reset. If You wait too long the light will stop and it will not work.

or this

To reset the Jeep Liberty alarm, press the control door-lock button on the keyless entry fob. Open the side door of the cab. Leave all doors closed for around 16 seconds before the Vehicle Security Light on the instrument cluster starts blinking quickly.

Battery drains and idle problems when jumped. 2002 Jeep Liberty

I would look at the fuses and fuseable links, and check the output of the alternator. If you disconnect the battery you can check the battery for a dead cell, and check the major circuits for a draw with everything turned off.

I have a 2003 jeep libierty .. the key is placed in ignition but wont start the car,, the string wheel is hard to move back and forth it is stuck .. the key dosen't start the jeep .. i was stuck for 2hr...

I may be misreading your post but, it sounds like the steering lock is preventing you from turning the key... sometimes you have to put some force to turn the wheel. It wouldn't hurt either to apply a little bit of lubricant in to the key cylinder. If you are able to turn the key to the start position and it still doesn't start, there is a good chance your battery or starter might be dead. Hope this helps!

Tried to start jeep liberty 2005 went and opened

Aside from the part about the remote, I would first check to make sure the battery has a solid 12volts in it and that the terminal connections are clean. After this, then check to see if operation has been restored. Jumping across a battery with bad connection often prevents the vehicle from starting. Also try closing the doors and then locking and unlocking drivers door with the key itself. This should re-set the security system

Ignition turns but no start

it is an issue in the steering column. I am getting my 2005 back today, finally. 2 mechanics and they said they have never seen this issue before!!
The steering wheel has to be pulled off and the part replaced. It is cutting all power to the ignition switch. It is not the starter or the Alternator... it is in the steering column. It should be about 200.00 to fix.
