I have a 92 f 250 has no power to the fuel pump or to the starter. It just clicks on the fender. I have replaced the solenoid on the fender, changed the starter, battery, and ignition switch. Can't figure this out.

Check the fuse if that is on working order then check the relay to the fuel pump.

Motor cannot start

There are a lot of questions that need asking. If you are turning the key and the starter does not turn the engine, then you need to check the starter solenoid that is mounted on the inside of the fender, in the engine compartment close to the battery, some are part of the starter or some have both, a one on the inside of the fender and one on the starter. If it just clicks when you turn the key, it is could be defective. Then again the starter may be defective. There is an issue that involves the key switch that can give you problems such as this. Usually if it is the key switch, you will have other electrical problems, such as main power to dash and computor will accure. I would start with the solenoid on the fender, not to expensive and could solve the problem. If not, move on to the starter. Then go to the key switch. I hope this has been helpfull, If you have not attempted these repaired before, you may want to take it to a pro.

2003 ford explorer wont start hear a click under the hood, i tried to jump it and it wont start. do u think it needs a starter?

Go under the car and have a helper hold the key in the start position while you probe the wire to the solenoid for 12 volts, also do a voltage test on the positive battery cable and inspect it at the battery for acid intrusion near the positive battery post clamp, if acid has gotten into the cable the outer insulation will appear swollen and the cable must be replaced, this is a common cause of no starts on Explorers.

Truck wont start has power just click click

The starter and starter solenoid has to be checked. There are few more possibilities that also are to be checked to confirm the fault. But as per click click its indicating faulty or loose connected starter or jammed starter solenoid. In both case the starter assembly has to be replaced. The other possibilities as follows:---

A car that cranks over but doesn't start, in many cases will be due to a bad fuel pump, a broken timing belt, an inoperative cam sensor or crank sensor. Also these problems are related to faulty spark plug. Check the spark at spark plugs when you start the car. Do you notice any spark. Actually you should see. If in case there is no spark then it's a spark plug problem. Also the coil pack gives power to spark plug. So check the voltage at coil pack. It will show 12 volt. If there is no voltage noticed at coil pack then its faulty coil pack that has to be replaced. If all the possible options checked out ok then check the car starter. The starter gets power from battery to start the car. If the starter is faulty then it will not let the car to start. Also check and confirm that there is fuel in the car. If its very low fuel then in some cases this causes the problem. Also check and confirm that fuel pump is functioning properly and the fuel filter is not clogged. One of the easiest ways to check for a fuel pump related problem is to spray a little starting fluid into the air intake while trying to start the car. If the car starts momentarily, then there's a good chance the fuel pump is not working or the car is out of gas. You can also listen for the fuel pump's humming sound when the key is first turned on. Also if a inoperative fuel pump is suspected, a good technician will always check to verify there is power and ground being supplied to the pump, to eliminate the possibility of a bad relay or electrical issue. Fuel pressure can be checked with a pressure gauge and if there is pressure, pulse can be checked at the fuel injectors in several ways including the most common, with the use of noid lights. If the injectors don't have pulse the engine won't start. ---------- This troubleshooting tips will help you to solve the problem. Thanks. Helpmech.

Has battery power can hear fuel pump all fuses ok starter relay clicks but wont crank i just rplaced the intake manifold gasket a couple days ago and car has been fine this problem came out of nowhere

The starter has always had a solenoid to conduct the correct current to crank. the click you hear from the solenoid activating to close the contact for the starter. However the contacts inside the solenoid are corroded due to arcing after several times of starting. When this happens, there is high resistance through these contacts hence low current to the starter not enough to crank. The solenoid needs to be replaced. If they don't sell a separate solenoid then you have to replace the integrated starter.

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Won't start. no sound from starter. Not sure I hear the fuel pump start up. Does this car have a reset switch for the fuel pump like the Ford Escort and other cars?

Start from scratch.
Does the battery have 12 volts across the terminals? If yes, then does the starter click when you turn the key? If no, replace the battery.
If the starter clicks when you turn the key, but the engine doesn't crank, replace the starter.
If no click, then check for power at the starter solenoid.
If there is power at the solenoid, but no click when you turn the key, check the starter relay. If none of this fixes your problem, you may want to have your mechanic check for broken or corroded wires

1992 ford ranger will not start

I would check the timing of the engine.
The timing may have skipped .
I would check the fuel pressure. The fuel pump could have took a dump.

Can you hear the fuel pump coming on when you turn the ignition key but do not turn it over to start.
IF you do not hear the fuel pump coming on replace it.
