Very likely the alternator has failed the voltage regulator is in the alt. Make sure you have 12Volts going to the Alternator main Battery Stud and on the plug for the Alternator disconnect it from the Alternator, make sure you have one or more terminal i the disconnected plug with 12v battery power all the time and at least one other terminal with 12V with the key ON if you have all these the alternator is Bad. If you need more help contact me please. Thanks Also chect the underhood fuse box for a big fuse marked Alt or CHG OR MAIN Replae any blown fuses

Battery is not getting charged
Hyundai Grandeur 3000XG.
The fuse boxes does not have Alt, CHG.
It has a main fuse - fuse OK.
The charge light will go on for long periods.
I check the brushes - worn up to locator hole in brush.
Seems to have enough brush length and spring tension. Not able to find replacement brushes yet.
What tests can I carry out?
Does regulator give intermittent problems?
Can I bench test the alternator, if so how?
