Try using the all windows up and down button (Drivers side on door), evidently after you change your battery this is the reset proceedure.
SOURCE: Jaguar XK8 Window Problem
Same thing has happened on mine!
The solution is to reprogram the window limits. You need to sit in the car with doors shut! Turn the key in ignition in position I or II, roll down the window all the way and keep holding the switch for 5 seconds, then roll the window up and again keep the switch pressed for 5 seconds, repeat same steps for other door.
Reprogramming is also described in the owners manual. I don't know how mine became deprogrammed, should only happen if the battery is disconnected!

It is likely the window motor is wearing out and will need to be replaced. You can always try a different switch on those wires to rule out switch problem. Otherwise, the motor will have to be replaced.

OMG. I replaced the battery in my 06 G6 and had the same problem. the windows would not roll up or down how they did before. I read the answers on here and it does work. Hold up the window switch for ten seconds and it resets. You will have to do it to each window. Worked great. Thanks
SOURCE: power sliding door will not stay closed. once
I have a 2006 SV6 with the power sliding doors. The problem that I found was with the contacts on the door ( They are called plungers) the movable pins were losing connection with the fixed part that the plungers slide thru. The plunger unit is very easy to replace if you can find one. The plungers are covered with a rubber cover and is held in place with 2 plastic pins. My Pontiac dealer could not even find one in his books, and claimed that he had never had anyone come with a door problem. My Chevy dealer said that it came with a wiring harness that is not needed for $154. The cure that I came up with was to take the plunger block apart (it snaps together)and replace the rusted out springs then solder 3" wires to the end of the plunger pins (they solder easy) to the tabs that go to the plug ( pop out the tabs to solder them or you will melt the plastic). It took about 45 min. now the doors work like new and will never loose contact
