Not precisely a problem ... regarding AUTO LOCK WHEN IN MOTION

I note that my 07 A3 auto locks the doors when I tear off down the road (or when I wheedle along as the case may be).

HOWEVER ... has anyone divined what magical set of circumstances must be present in order for the locks to AUTO UNLOCK when you STOP and decide you want to get out of the car?

It seems that every time I THINK about it, the locks unlock somehow, when I place the (manual trans) gear shift into N; But if I don't think about it, and exit the vehicle without a care, I note as how the passenger (4 door) rear doors and hatch are LOCKED. This is way so frustrating.

Is there a special series of things one must do BEFORE the door is opened perhaps ? I Hear the doors unlocking automagically sometimes ... but I absolutely don't know what it is I do to unlock them so.

ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

john.

Hi mate, sounds like a problem with the phneumatics which trigger the central locking system!, or a sensor, regarding opening all the doors and tailgate, press the open button on your remote twice! or at least thats what i do!

2017 Honda CRV. The non powered hatch is not locking down securely.

Question re-written for clarity, and 'hobda' to Honda.
Question moved to model category.

You say it is not locking down securely. So you press in down to lock and it doesn't. That is just a simple adjustment fix, normally you move the securing hook a little closer to the lock.

But you also say it seems to be locking and unlocking via the fob. That is an electronics issue. It might just be a bad contact on the solenoid, or it is electronic via the whole electronic door locking system. For that you need an auto electrician.

Automatic door locks will not lock while driving down the road. Doors are closed. What would stop automatic doors locks from working while engine is running?

Door locks are controlled by the body control module This module operates a relay that controls door lock function. The relay may be bad or the module may not be getting a signal from the speed sensor to let it know when to lock the doors when the vehicle is in motion. Check engine light on? Scan for codes that might pertain to this failure

Left keys in car and it locked itself just purchased car last week does it lock itself never had this problem need to get in wasn't given spare set

You mean you left the FOB in the car. Go to the rear corner of the side the FOB is on (just behind rear wheel of side the FOB is on). "Bounce" the car up and down 5 - 10 times. Try the door. FOB has small motion switch in it and it might move enough to activate "auto-open" for locks. This will only work if "auto-open" is enabled in "Options".
