Need more information such as the year and make if the vehicle, I will guess that its a front wheel drive vehicle. Now these vehicles have an axle for each front wheel, and they have a flexible joint on each axle. And these joints can start knocking and get very loud, but usually, the knocking don't start until you start turning a corner or making a turn. They can be quiet as long as you are going straight down the road. They are called cv-joints. Most of the time a garage will replace the joint and the rubber boot around the joint. The knocking could be coming from just one side. I have personally fixed this problem by taking the axle out of the side that was knocking, cleaned and repacked it with new grease and a new rubber boot and it really didn't need a new joint . Most of the time the boot will dry rot and crack and let water and dirt get inside and then it can start making noise

Replace the front struts AND the turn plates above them, they call those the "strut kits". it houses a bearing plate that turn with the steering wheel.... if the struts are too expensive to replace right now, just have the strut KITS replaced. Very common with 80K+ front wheel drive cars and almost always an area most people look over. good luck

2008 Jeep patriot front end knocking when hitting bumps as well as the right rear, seems to have loss of power even after spark plugs and oil change, rear power windows roll down sometimes when switch is...

The knocking on the front could be a ball joint and the rear could be a suspension linkage. The grinding might be a wheel bearing. Does the grinding change with road speed? The window problem could be the actual switch. Try using the switch on the drivers control AND for the window in question. The switch where the fault happens is the one you need to replace.

Volvo front end knock

Most likely the sway bar links,if quiet unless you hit little bumps or cracks thats the most likely thing on a volvo. Followed by ball joints and tie rods. If it only happens when you are sitting still and move the steering wheel side to side that would be a tie rod.

95 ef ford sedan suspension problem

What was said about the wear of the front end part when the alignment was given? I could be wrong but, I would say, Not likely for the tie rod ends and definately not the shocks for knocking sounds.. It sounds more like bad ball joints poping, although the idler arm and tye rod ends could be worn also .
