When some error codes are displayed the computer puts the car into limp mode - this restricts the speed of the car so you can get home or to a repair shop - you should not drive it now until the problem is solved to avoid any further damage.

These code readers are 100% reliable. If you feel it is not getting enough fuel it means there is problem with the ignition. But the actual technical reason is that the timing controls the ignition of the car. If the timing is wrong the problem you are facing can surely happen.
