I'm trying to change my spark plugs and wires in my 2001 Ford Taurus. The wires I'm taking off are factory where the ones I'm replacing them with are Autolite. What numbers on the autolite wires match the factory numbers.

There is nothing on the spark wire wires that will identify where they go or what o.e. plug wire they match up to. What you will do is remove the old wires one at a time and match them to the same length new wire. Then install the new wire and move on to the next one.

2001 ford taurus with the 3.0 after sitting a few hours when i go to start will crank and crank and crank for what seems like ever, will start easily after that but when i go to start it for the first time...

Its not the oil, increasing temperature will thin out the oil. If it cranks easily but won't start it could be the spark plugs or the spark plug wires. When they heat up, especially if they are old, they won't perform well. Pull off one of the wires and hold it close to the plug, try to crank the engine and look for a spark. If it sparks them try removing a plug and check to see if it looks wet. If its bone dry it might not be getting fuel.

Is it easy to replace the wiring for the spark plugs?

This is a simple procedure. Just replace one at a time. Remove one old wire, match it in length to a new one, and install it. Shouldn't take but about 15 minutes.

Replacing coil in 2001 ford taurus

Disconnect all 6 spark plug wires from the coil twist them while you pull up is the best way to take them off. To make sure you are putting the same wire back in the same spot on the new coil I would take a few pieces of masking tape and label the spark plug wires as you remove them and make a little diagram of the coil pack and which wire goes where that way when you put the new coil in you won't have any issues with mixing up the order of the wires on the new coil. I just use a marker on the coil and number the 6 spots and then label a piece of tape to the wire number and do this 1 at a time. then just disconnect the wiring harness attached to the back of the coil and remove the three bolts holding the coil down and its ready to replace. My advice is to have the new coil ready before you unhook the old one. This saves a lot of problems when making sure you hook up the wires to the right terminals when your hooking up the new coil. One of my rules when I am working on anything on my car is I now label things and take a quick picture of it before I take anything apart that way I always have a picture or two of the area i am working in it might sound like a waste of time or not necessary but it will always make up for it in the end if you ever have questions about the location of any of the parts your taking out or how to install it.
