2003 lincoln towncar, 67000 total miles with all new rotors and pads at 45000. pulsation occurs with light brake pressure and pulsation increases with increased pressure. do not know quality of rotors or pads. Is this a rotor problem or power steering related? all miles on car are over the road and braking is not hard. Any recalls on 2003 lincolns with type suspension? THANKS

If the brake pedal pulsates while high speed braking, the rotors are warped/out of round. This can also produce noise as it can cause the caliper to move back and forth. You either have poor quality/cheap parts installed or the parts were installed with improper lube on the slide assemblies and there is dirt/rust causing the pins not to move freely or the pad shims are old and rusted causing the pads to stick and overheat the rotors. Have the brakes inspected for the source of the problem
Is your ABS working properly? Under heavy braking the ABS should engage and 'pulse' the brakes on/off. It is normal to feel the brake petal flutter or pulse under your foot.
Under light braking there should be no pulsing as the ABS does not engage and you have changed the rotors and pads.
HI if you have pulsation after a month you must replace the rotors they are too thin and the heat is warping them faster then before you had them turned note you replace brake pads and rotors
Not to question your ability, if you listen from the drivers seat while driving, just do yourself a favor, check the rear brakes, funny how sound travels and tricks the mind
if you had brakes and rotors 6 months ago,did you do just front or just rear? if you did front and squeal is in front, the new pads got hot and it glazed them, but the rotors are you pulsating pedal, are you sure they did rotors and pads? there is no way this should be happening in 6 months.
If the light is not on it may not be the ABS that is pulsating on slow braking but it may be that your have warped brake rotors, even if the rotors were replaced with the pads the new ones may be warped already, we always check new rotors on a brake lathe before installing them because we have seen this happen many times
