Old starter would spin but would not kick-out and turn engine. Bought new one and still the same problem. Tightened all negative connections, replaced ignition switch. I feel like its in the wiring because I tested the starter outside of the car and it kicked out and was spinning. I need suggestions please.

The solenoid only brings two large discs of copper together to make a strong connection from the positive battery terminal to the positive lead on the starter motor. The connection from the solenoid TO the starter motor is corroded or broken. Make sure to remove negative battery connection before doing anything with your starter motor. Lots of amperage is dangerous.
Hi Paula, As both the battery and alternator have been replaced, there are only few remaining reasons why the alternator will not charge. Make sure of the socket connection being fitted correctly and that there is a good connection on each of the connectors inside the connector. Check and make sure the earth earth connection between the battery and the engine is correct and that both ends are tightened correctly. Inspect the 'Alt' fuse in the fuse holder and also the fusible link. Also make sure that the belt is tight. Regards John
need good 12 volts 11 volts starter turn engine over slow then starter solenoid start clicking.the pull in and hold in windings in solenoid wont have enough power to hold in engage starter drive pinion.have battery charged and load tested.make alternator keeping battery charged.if battery over 5 years old time to replace.
A bad battery, a bad cable or a bad connection, could all cause this. Don't forget to check the ground side. Check everything for corrosion as bad connections are what kill starters. If there is any green on your positive wire cables there is probably more under the coating.

To install:WARNING Before installing the starter, torque the inner solenoid and battery terminal nuts to 70 inch lbs. (8 Nm). If not properly tightened, the starter may fail due to terminal or cap damage.
Starter. Torque the bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
Starter electrical connectors. Torque the positive battery terminal nut to 70 inch lbs. (8 Nm) and the "S" terminal nut to 26 inch lbs. (3 Nm).
If it just spins when you turn the key, either the Bendix gear is not kicking out the starter gear, or the flywheel/flexplate hs broken or missing teeth. Was the old starter 'shimmed'? If so, did you put the same number of shims back in when you installed the new one? It is possible your starter, even though it is new, is not working properly-rebuilt units can be defective out of the box.
remove negative on battery starter is on side of motor remove wires(make note of were wires go use colored tye wraps or number masking tape to identify.remove starter mounting bolts install new starter install wires exactly how they came off old starter secure everything make sure its all tight!hook up negative on battery start vehicle!!!!
