Wiring has shorted out under the column ,looks like someone has played with wiring to fit a weekend boy racer alarm or remote start thingy and this is why the wiring has chaffed through and gone up in smoke

For 2003 Hyundai elantra, where is the door lock relay locates? The locks are locking and unlocking by themselves even when the car is off

There two places where fuses and relays can be found 1 in the engine bay just above the battery there is a flat square box. Lift the lid from The lower right corner. 2. There is a panel on the dash at about knee height between the steering wheel and the door. Grip in the middle and pull up. The door relay/fuse should be labelled door control.

Where is the interior fuse block that lock and unlock on a 2005 tahoe

It is behind the dash panel lower left of steering wheel (knee bolster). Remove a small access panel (plastic) to get to it.

The fuse(s) and relays which control the doors are listed as:

1. LOCK Relay
2. UNLOCK Relay
3. PDM fuse
4. LT TRN fuse
5. RT TRn fuse
6. DDM fuse
7. LOCKS fuse
8. CB LT DOORS

Check ALL of these.

Ignition switch key lock solenoid passat

when you shut it off were the wheels cranked sideways-sometimes this puts pressure on the locking system and won't let it disengage-try moving the steering wheel back and forth while applying pressure to the key-I hope this helps-cheers Denny

2004 saab arc driver side central lock not working

Check for a bad switch in the door.
Water leaking from the rag top-door seal joint often drains into the switch, causing a short or bad contact eventually.

Horn honks when unlocking doors.

If your vehicle is equipped with a factory keyless entry system and you have the owner's manual, there should be a section in the manual describing how to change your options with your system. But if you have an aftermarket system, which I am thinking this the case, you will have to manually go into your dash under your steering wheel and cut the wire going to your horn from the security system. Once you have accessed your wiring underneath your steering wheel, there is a main harness with a bunch of wires going to the steering wheel. In this harness you will find a DARK GREEN/VIOLET small gauge wire and you should see another wire tapping into it probably coming from the security module. Just cut it off but leave the DARK GREEN/VIOLET untouched and this will eliminate the horn honks.

Door locks on Ford Expedition stuck

Look under your steering wheel right under the dash. There should be a small white strip with 5 numbers. This is your master code for your vehicle. If you bought the car used and they give you a code, they could have made their own code, but the master will override it. If this don't help, the module for the doors may be going bad.

Someone tried breaking into our ford escort xr3i cabriolet and the drivers door lock has been broken. It opens from the inside, but we cannot unlock the car from the drivers door, nor open i he drivers...

remove door trim first, then with window up look on back of door lock and you will see u shaped piece of sprung steel that on the back of lock holding it too door skin ,big screwdriver and slide this backwards and door lock is loose .Unclip the plastic bits that sort of clip to the bars that operate the lock and open door .door lock will now drop out.Lock only type,if you have combined lock and handle then normally their are two 10mm headed bolts on inside of door same sort of procedure with the plastic clips but unbolt the handle .1992 doesnt have a factory immobiliser so best advice is big round steering lock over wheel,or a padlock and chain around seat support then on steering wheel .This will put most kids off but being an older car without the immobiliser its a prime target for a get you home car by a couple of drunks .Another trick is a push button start mounted under dash or a coil cut off switch.A friend of mine used to take the rotor arm out,all very well but when its pouring with rain and electrics got wet ,but thats another story.
