Question about 2006 Pontiac Torrent

Hi my 2006 pontiac torrent has a problem with water leaking onto the floor carpets, mainly on the driver's side, but also on the passenger's side. Any suggestions on what is wrong and how to fix it?

    I have water leaking into my drivers side floor, under the carpet, when it rains. I have tried holding a hose on my windsheild to see if it is leaking from there and no luck. What else can I do to find the problem?!?

    IF FLOOR BOARD GET WET AFTER HARD RAIN.WATER CAN ENTER VECHICLE THROUGH WINDSHIELD SEAL,WEATHERSTRIPPING AROUND DOORS, DRAIN HOLES IN LOWER COWL OF THE WINDSHIELD BECOME CLOGGED CAUSE WATER BACK UP LEAK INSIDE CAR.

    In my case it was not the heater core but water leaking in as mentioned here. Water got into the instrument panel connector which is locate under the plastic panel and right next to the hood release. Very easy to get in and clean this out. It was throwing codes and I had no power and several lights on as a result.

Is there coolant leaking inside the car? Check the floor under the passenger side dashboard. If the carpet is wet your heater core is leaking.

If the floor is dry check the coolant elbows going from the block into the automatic belt tensioner. That's inside the engine compartment. They are notorious for leaking. You may not be able to see the leak because it drips onto the block and evaporates. That's what the smell may be.

Search google images for "3800 series 3 coolant elbow" to see the part I am talking about.

The only way to find a coolant leak is to pressurize the cooling system. You can rent a coolant pressure tester from an auto supply store. Pressurize the system and look for leaks. You may have a leaking water pump.

The elbows can be purchased from the dealer. The water pump you can get from an auto supplier. Might as well change the thermostat while you are doing the other repair. Drain the cooling system and refill with fresh dex coolant.

Make sure you bleed all of the air out of the system or the car will overheat.

2007 Pontiac Torrent floor board is soaking wet. A pressure test was done on it and they couldn't find anything wrong. Any suggestions??
passenger side floor? There is a small tube that directs the condensation from the AC to the ground.If this tube has gotten plugged or moved the water would end up on the floor. Should be able to see this tube sticking out of the bottom of the heater /ac module.

I HAVE A 2006 TORRENT WATER LEAKING IN FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEN RAINING AND GOING TO CAR WASH
check rubber door seals for damage/missaligned, look under hood see if gutter run offs are clear of dirt/debri, look for signs of rust body rot.check joints between the wing and door frame.

Where are the chassis drain plugs on a 2003 Pontiac bonneville? My car leaks in the trunk and onto the floor on the front passenger floor
Your trunk leak most likely is rubber seal that runs the perimeter of trunk when trunk lid is open. Leak on pass floor can be a combination of things. Heater core or if car has sunroof, there is drains that run down windshield posts. Carpet will be wet and sticky if heater core is leaking (not to mention coolant level low) If it's sunroof drain, car has to be put on a lift and drains blown out with compressed air.

My 1999 jeep cherokee is leaking on the passenger floor board. how can i stop the leak?
what is leaking onto the floor? water? antifreeze? if its water and you have a sunroof it might be the drain tube for the passenger side of the sunroof has popped off and the water is running down the inside of the 'A' pilar and onto the carpet,if thats the case you will have to take down the headliner and take a look.hope this helps

In that case either the drain tube is partially clogged or the drip pan has a leak. Clean the hose with a long tie-zip from underneath the car and look for the origin of the leak under the dash - if you can see it you can plug it.

Rain water leak
Did you have the windshield replaced recently? This is typically caused by faulty installation of a windshield. Sometimes it can be fixed by adding windshield sealant (polyurethene, not silicone) where the windshield is adhered to the subframe - most likely along the bottom edge.

Water leak
sounds like you have a window seal leak.  The only other way water will leak into the car is a leaky heater core or a clogged A/C drain.  Do you have a sun roof that could be leaking?  As they have drains too.

There is a water leak somewhere in my 98 toyota camry that leaks into my passenger side floor. There is no sun roof and no visible leaks from the windows or doors. Any thoughts? A/C leak maybe? water...
I am the original owner of camry xle 1998 with wet floors. In 2000 I had drivers side door seal leaking at welt. Removed old door seal and new weather strip on drivers side installed. The door panel was never wet, but wet at bottom of door where there are drain holes...slowly leaking under carpet.
In 2001 later water again. Coming from overflowing A/C evaporator-drain plugged/ tank full of debris. Removed evaporator, cleaned + drain cleaned.
In 2003, driver door seal against window rotted. Removed door panel and found leak at window belt molding at the mirror joint inside + out. Lots of mold under carpet needed to replace! Made a fuss at dealers for reacurring problem and they replaced the carpet for free.

Floor on passenger side gets wet when running air conditioner
I have a 2006 Fusion with the same issue and I fixed it for less than $2. There is a drain tube that goes from the passenger floor board out through the firewall to allow water to drain under the vehicle. However, water can travel along the underside and seep back into the vehicle. I went to a hardware store and bought a few inches of 5/8" tubing. I simply slipped this onto the drain and the water now flows down the tube and safely away from the interior of the car. Been dry ever since.
