Yes i have one of these cars myself and its a flying machine ,beats BMW 3 series away from lights no problem but as for your problem iam not sure without my head under thge bonnet and have a play ,iam thinking more in line of mass air flow sensor for acceleration problem but dont think this on its own would cause the idle problem ?' to be honest i would need my head under the bonnet to hit it with a hammer in the right sopt so to speak

I want to do any oil and filter change on my 2006 Astra 4 door hatch it is Holden GM model AH CDx it has an ecotec 1.8l unleaded petrol engine

So what is the problem? The new filter for a Z18XE screws directly on to the front of the engine block behind the radiator, and the oil drains out of the drain plug at the base of the sump. The Z18XER only differs in that the filter sits in a round black housing visible from the top right of the engine and is requires a 32mm spanner to remove the cover. The filter is different from that on the Z18XE

I have a Opel Astra G (T3000) 2.0 16v Ecotec motor...Bad metal rattling sound developed from motor and there after in the course of driving water started spilling out from underneath the car..

Sounds like water pump has given out. If you can slacken the belt that drives it and then run engine again briefly. If the noise is gone when you have done this it will be water pump for sure.

My 2007 Opel Astra 1.6 essentia has a miss at low revs. Approximately 1500RPM while driving it normally occurs. Mostly when slowing down to turn and the accelerator is released then on acceleration th

until you know exactly what it is then the answer is YES.. The biggest effect will be low economy and performance. Have a compression test done to check for head gasket and valve problems. These 2 will eventually require the head off and major work done if left too long. First step is to have the fault codes read as it may be a simple plug, HT lead of if individual coils , a faulty coil. Check the distributor cap if it has one for cracks and carbon tracks between the HT points . Check for dirt on the outside causing a short in the HT circuit.. Check for vacuum leaks (lean mixture hotter than normal temp). Check brake booster hoses and hoses to the inside vent controls. Remember the engine is trying to tell you that it is not well and like yourself if you do nothing it will get sicker and be very expensive to fix.
