Suggest that you check your transmission fluid post haste please. you may only need to add transmission fluid to your car. also,if you have to add the fluid, where did your fluid leak? check for leaks under your car when parked. you may need transmission fluid and filter change, suggest that you do this with new filter and add lucas transmission treatment to the fluid change also. you'll need to purchase this yourself, unless you have a mechanic in the family that can do it for you.if not i suggest you find a mechanic you trust, then tell him,or,her to add this to your tranny fluid change. also suggest while the mechanics there at the transmission to check the modulator valve on the transmission, and the vacum line that operates it. just a hint. thanks for choosing fixya.com
My 2005 Mazda 6i is doing the same thing and I had taken it to the mechanic and he said the transmission fluid was low. So he replaced it with 4 quarts. The car was driving fine for the past week and now suddenly it has trouble accelerating, gets stuck in 3rd gear, rpm's flying past 300 , and has trouble coming back down to lower gears. Does not move into manual tip tronic. Transmission has a strong odor and there is a leak underneath the car but its not the transmission fluid bc the levels are normal and the liquid leaking under is yellowish and oily in texture. I hope the entire tranny doesnt need replacement and also my ABS and TCS sensors are damaged. Please help with any suggestion.
Ramesh, I am having exactly the same problem, started out just not shifting out of 3rd and the battery light, replaced the battery that didn't help, completely drained the new battery. Put the old one back in jumped it now it has a strange odor and the check engine light went on, the ABS is out and TCS are not functioning. I had taken it in to the dealership prior to the Engine, ABS and TCS sensors going out and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Have you found a solution to your problem yet?
