Question about 2006 Peugeot 604

2 Answers

Was driving Peugeot partner 19D yesterday when the power assisted steering seemed to stop working. There was lots of resistance when turning. PAS fluid level is ok. Continued driving then symbol for battery light came on. next thing i notice that lights were slowly getting dimmer. Made it home, decided to try restart van and yes you guessed it, dead. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi sounds like you have a belt snapped causing the power sterring pump to fail and stopping the battery recieving a charge from the alternator, should be an easy fix with replacement belt
Hope this helps

have you checked the power steering fluid level? what is might be is the system telling you that it is low on fluid and not able to provide the proper assist pressures

Partner hdi how far beetween timing belts

According to service manual after 80,000 miles in normal use; or 48,000 miles for arduous use. A lot of stop-start driving is known as arduous use. But to be on safe side, give a call to peugeot dealer and all informations are free of charge.
