Battery is located in trunk under the bottom cover if car is completly dead you will need the key and press the trunk emblem in on the top it will tilt forward then the key can be inserted from the bottom to manually open trunk then pull up trunk floor covers and attach jumper cables or charger to battery.
note; factory batterys work the best but when they go bad they dont give you a lot of warning also if vehicle is going to sit for like a week at time or more you should by a battery maintaner there cheap between 20-30 dollars like at lowes or home depot or walmart or from the dealer like 90.00 the other ones do the samething just dont say BMW
