Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you replace the automatic transmission fluid. If the fluid is burnt the transmission tends to slip, stuck in gear or shifts slowly. Once replaced, a smooth ride and shifting will be noticeable.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Reving up when in gear driving

My 2002 gmc envoy goes through all the gears except slips in third

Its the overdrive sensor 3rd gear you will slip with 4speed band trans
This overdrive gear setting if your sensor is not kicking in then you are due for trans maintenance as 3rd gear is shredding slowly away learned this from dirt track quarter mile super stock racing pray that your gear is intact as a trans shop with micro snake cam can only determine the length of time you have on your gears and trans inspections are free threw amco certified shops

Cold wether trans slips in and out how do i chang the fuld in trans [email protected]

If your tranny is slipping,,and you want to try something before rebuilding it,,,Go to your local parts store buy a bottle of LUCAS transmission slip fluid,,,comes in a white plastic bottle.Get it warm before you put it in because its think like honey, if you get it warm it will pour in alot faster. Drain your fluid by taking trans pan off, you should get about 4 quarts out by doing this, than put in the Lucas and 3 quarts of sythetic trans fluid, ask for it at auto parts store, after you put all this back in start the car and let it idle for about 15 min, than take it for a ride, 20 miles or so, You should notice it stop slipping, might take a couple days to work through the trans and cure the slipping,,,,,,,,,,,,,,If it dont work than there is something really wrong with the trans,,,But I had it work on a buick 1985 and it ran for 5 years and never sliped again, I used it on a 98 sonoma truck ,it was slipping when trying to shift into second and it is still on the road after 2 years,,,So i know it works. Try it,,cost 12.99 .

Trans slips only on left turns. Will a new trans

Sounds less like a transmission slip as a rear end issue. What exactly happens on the turn?

Slipping bad in every gear and wont move. it started by just a little slip then it completely went. trans fluid is still red and doesnt smell burnt.

Causes could be:
  • Low on trans fluid
  • faulty torque converter
  • low trans pump pressure
  • Blown valve dody gasket
  • restricted trans oil filter
Chk trans fluid with engine running in neutral! Bring to proper same same.
