Yes, possibly the water got up around ignition parts or electrical connections that are giving you problems. Have the engine computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. If the engine light was on, it should have set a code.
may be locked up..these get spun by exhaust gasses coming out of the manifold..if it does not spin..its locked up and needs replaced..may find one at a salvage yard..new ones arent cheap...
Does it come from the engine? How bout an oil change and valve clearance adjustments. If the valves are far, there surely be noise from the engine. This can resolve the issue once performed.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
expensive to repair properly, quick fix??? fit two non return valves ,one in the feed and one in the return to the injector pump ,weither conventional pump or common rail pump .this will cure your problem and its cheap to do ,two valves (observe direction) in the lines .works every time on any diesel engine weither its plant or road use
In my opinion cut off problem occurs if engine is not getting sufficient fuel and/or air. Clean the air filter, turbo filter and fuel filter. Check the continuity of diesel flow from filter to hdi pump. If you haven't found any problem there then the possibily the hdi pump and injectors section needs to be checked. If the car has done more than 100000 miles then clean inlet and outlet manifolds including check of turbo and EGR valve. Do everything whatever possible before you take your car to garage. If there is no luck then let your car diagnosed and check any error code recorded by ecu.
if its diesel 2000 hdi .........its under the hdi cover under the bonnet if its a 1400 hdi......... its to the right of the air filter at the back of the engine
usually you should do it for peugeot diesel at 122000 miles along with water pump and the tensioner roller that runs under the cambelt too. But to be on the safe side do it at 100000 and save the fortune.
It took me (DIY job) about 6-8 hours as i wanted to save 450 pounds.
