Sounds like the starter went bad. If the starter before it quit felt like it was dragging or an oil leak by it is probably bad. when it is cold out starters work harder thats pretty common in the winter the easies way to check that jump the starter cylinoid and see if it cranks over it is a cylinoid or starter

At 30 below 0, more than likely you have a frozen starter. You will have to put heat under the vehicle and let it thaw out. Or put it in a heated garage where it is warm. The starter got moisture in it and it froze up on you.

1993 Grand Cherokee won't stay running or turn over

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter to me, maybe look into the TPS: throttle positioning sensor. Good luck

Engine quit when stopped at stop light. Acted as if it was choking then died. Tried restarting. Turns over strong, no start. Thought maybe no gas. Added gas after about 30 minutes. Started first try....

Sounds like the fuel pump is going out. Replace the filter first, as it's only $10. If that doesn't fix it, then it's probably the pump, which is $250.

suggest a bad starter or a bad connection to starter, sometimes you can tap on the starter with a hammer and get it to start one last time.make sure cars in park with emergancy brake on!! have some hold key over in start position and you tap on starter with hammer to see if it even clicks, sometimes they will either click or even start, depaending on how bad the colenoind is on the starter. be very careful when tapping as not to cross out and hit the positive cable on the starter. hope this helps!!

My 1997 jeep grande cherokee wont fire up all i get when i turn the key is a clici even tried starting it from the solenoid

If the connections to the battery are clean ,and tight, and the battery is good, and you know this for sure, then the starter is the problem, they are a low gear reduction starter, and are bad to do just what yours is doing, the starter is the most likely problem,if this was at all helpful, please rate thank you.

I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle

sounds like the key is either worn down to where the ridges in the key wont push the tumblers inside the key lock cylinder into their proper place to move the cylinder into the starting position. Or your steering colum is locked and the wheel is moving freely as if it were not. So your solution would be to either have an expert look at it (estimated cost: 200$ low/400$high) or you can attempt to fix it yourself.
should you choose the "I'll fix it myself" method....try getting a new key made at a hardware store since keys wearout over time (ie:10years of turning that old key), this may solve the problem right away if the ridges are just worn on the key. Or the hard way, you need to get a phillips screwdriver and some jewelers tools and an 8mm or 10mm wrench/rachet+socket to disconnect the battery, then underneath the steering colum just under the ignition is a hole in the colum shroud/cover, from there you can disconnect the ignition key lock cylinder (the thing you put your key into). once you've removed the cylinder from the steering colum you should test your key again to see if you can turn the cylinder outside of the colum if you cannot then buy a new ignition key lock cylinder for about 15$-30$...problems solved.

My 1993 grand cherokee won't start in sub -15 weather

First, check starter terminals for power: large terminal should have 12v at all times (except ford type with remote solenoid) Small terminal should have 12v when key is turned to "start" If voltage readings are correct and battery terminals are clean, replace the starter. (clean means on the inside of the clamps, not that they look clean on the outside)If you have remote solenoid, testing is done at solenoid, following same procedure.
