Most transmission control lever with cable lock bolt become lose in time need to re adjust position to the right place and tighten the bolts ,it can easily done by jacking up the suv and look under the transmission .
If you completely lost reverse one of the tabs on the reverse band probably broke off .it is a big job if that is it best to get a second opinion from a transmission shop
ok my problem is my chevy blazer is that my reverse wont work and that even in neutral it still goes forward like its in drive any body got any suggestions
either the contact for forward/reverse on your power seat is faulty or the motor is going bad which is less probable than my first suggestion. If you have a little patience, a bsaic mechanical aptitude and a circuit tester (like you'ld check a fuse with) you could test the for/rev function when you press the switch to determine if its electrical problem or the motor
sounds like when you got it stuck you tryed to get it out and got the clutches hot and they stuck / welded when you put it in revurse does it pul the engine speed down like it is in gear but you give it gas and wont move trying to go forward and back at the same time sounds like trans rebuld time
sounds like transmission damaged. if forward gears are operational, suspect transmission failure. If nothing working ( either in 2 or 4 wheel drive) suspect transmission or transfer case.
