Fusible link should be available at any full service Auto Parts supply available on a roll which you purchase by the inch. Do not replace the fusible link with a piece of #10 stranded wire. Have you checked with your local GM garage for this link?

You say the fusible link is rated @ 20 amp's @ 12 V dc, I would suggest you could put a auto-resetting 20 amp @ 12 V dc circuit breaker in its place but not a wire.

Fusible link rarely "blows". I think you should find the cause before you go much further.

1994 gmc sonoma with alternator putting out 11.7 volts no matter what you have on. New battery and rebuilt alternator. What else could cause this low voltage situation. The battery and abs lights are on.

Try checking the gauge inside the truck
If it reads wrong - not to worry - just carry on as it is.

Try turning everything on - then CAREFULLY remove the NEGATIVE battery cable - if the truck continues to run WELL - the problem is most likely the gauge.

Check it the local battery store - free.

WHAT IS THE spark plug firing order on a 1996 GMC sonoma pickup truck

For an Inline 4 like I'm assuming, 1-3-4-2. If you have a V6, I believe it is the "Kindergarten Pattern", 1-2-3-4-5-6.

1993 SONOMA DID THEY EVER COME FROM FACTORY WITH ONLY ONE LEAF SPRING PER SIDE, MINE HAS ONLY ONE AND RIDES LOW IN THE BACK

Nope the Sonoma had a 2 plus 1 leaf spring system. With your Sonoma only having one leaf spring, it sounds like the previous owner has installed and lowering kit which was a one leaf system to give the Sonoma a lower and softer stance.

Gives it more like a car ride, but you lose out on your ride height and load capacity to carry things in the bed.

Thank you for using Fixya and have a safe winter.

Battery gets drained sporadically.

The large fusible link goes to the positve battery terminal on the back of the alternator, the alternator has a short,of course pull it and have it tested before replacing it.
