ENGINE IDLES ROUGH IVE CHANGED PLUGS WIRES COIL MASS AIR FLO TPS AMBIENT AIR IAC AND STILL SHOW MIS FIRE ON # SIX CYL ANY SUGGESTIONS THANKS

First Check for vacuum leak. My next step would be cleaning the I.A.C. ( idle air control ) Its common to find it clogged up with carbon. Also a bad mass air flow could cause it. ( easy solution to mass air flow, you can do the relearn procedure to see if solves it)

Clean throttle body and check mass air flo screen for dirt and grease you can clean both with carburator cleaner.the throttle body is the flapper on front of engine intake.And mass air flo is inline on the air intake hose going from air cleaner to engine.It could also be tps sensor but you will have to hook up to computer to tell if this is any kind of sensor problem.good luck

Dirty or disconnected IAC (Idle air control) valve, dirty mass air meter (Maf) or being slightly out of time can all cause idle/stall issues.

I imagine that the check engine light is on and if so what are the trouble codes? Sounds like a miss in at least one cylinder. If you provide me with the 8'th character in the vin # and codes if any, I'll try to be of more help.

I have had this problem before , and coils work or dont work , your mis fire is dirty fuel injectors run a can of fuel cleaner with high octain fuel , on some high way drive , should clean it out , thanks

I had this problem with a 2.4 before. my problem ended up being a bad coil pack. Best way to find out if its bad is to check each cyl. for spark if you have one with none replace the coil pack and that should fix the problem

Fuel injectors go bad on these engines, you can find re manned ones for 30 bucks. If you have an engine light on get that read. Change your coil/wires/plugs also. Is the lower intake manifold gasket leaking coolant yet? You may want to get that replaced also. Check the TPS too (throttle positioning sensor) those will also cause your engine to act up

try a new mass air flow sensor

a rough idle/high idle is indicative of a malfunctioning TPS(throttle position sensor) this is located on the throttle body ,is attached with (2) screws/bolts to the throttle body housing right off the butterfly shaft. it has either 2 wire or 4 wire plug. the replacement part can be purchased at locale auto parts store. I would also agree that a full service and tuneup be done. this will help with performance and will increase the fuel efficiency. please rate this...thanks
