Automatic gear shift in 94 toyota tercel stuck

Its a gear shift issue.

The shifter needs to be inspected. The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

There are many other possibilities. But if it was working right up till now and suddenly this occurred then its shifter assembly alignment issue.

you check the ATF (trans oil) condition this good indiccator for your trans status . (burn mean clutch inside burn ) have small chips . change ATF and filter and make sure it;s in level.

Any car I ever had which had manual shift and was popping out of gear meant that it was time for another transmission. A junkyard can tell you what years and models of toyota transmissions will fit.
Yes they usually have two shifter cables, pull the console and look under your shifter.

2 choices 1st check the brake master cylinder if it is okay then it must be the porpotional valve

have you checked the fluid gear oil itself 1st hmmm would you elaborate on this for me is the linkage connected and have you done any work to the said vehicle prior or just one day woke up and this is the issue

has something stuck between the linkage visually inspect it as well as check the gear oil level hmmm check the vacuum line going to it ..ensure it is connected and not dry-rotted causing a leak

I have a 96 toyota tercel and the last gear sometimes shifts late... How can I solve this problem?

first a black thick cable connects between acclerator control and the straight to the gearbox.[yoou can find it easily].just put less force and pull towards you[just a inch,holding top end in your hand] and release back to normal.if you cant then you have to clean the cable.secondly,clean the filter in the automatic gearbox...it can be doneby petrol and dry with blower.
