Hi, I have a 2001 nissan sentra gxe that is overheating. I have changed the thermostat, water pump and flushed the radiator. The radiator does not have a leak in it, but the car is still over heating. What else could it be? Please help ASAP! Thanks!

I own a 1989 Nissan Pathfinder which over heats during the daytime. No leaks or steam. Changed the entire cooling system except radiator and gaskets. New clutch fan, thermostat, water pump, hoses. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM, please help.

2001 sentra does not over heat all the time only about once or twice every few weeks. i have flushed the radiator system a few months back and also had the thermostat replace this was all before it started to over heat back then also. The car over heats and build back pressure into the reservior. I feel that the radiator is getting clogged and needs another flush but i am not sure. I have not troubleshooted the water pump and if i do what should i be looking for? i had taken it to a shop to get looked at an was told that the thermostat was good.

Hi. was just looking at your problem of (sentra) overheating and actually, i am a mechanic for nissan and have changed many head gaskets for this particular vehicle equipped with 1.8 liter motor and found that they are notorious for this problem of faulty head gasket's.Unless you did't properly bleed the system, which i doubt because you seem mechanically inclined since you already changed every other part of the system,i would't doubt that this is the problem.Anyway, by the time you read this, you have probably already found this out..Just thought i would let you know this info.Good luck!...by the way,if you haven't already changed you cam and crank sensors,do that too, before you get stuck and get the part's at the dealer!!!!-they are redesigned from the old one's!!just some advise to try to help you out!!! 2005 Nissan Sentra overheating. Changed the water pump. Did a radiator flush. What else could it be??

Some thing too check:
Make sure coolant level is up to line and clean (not dirty, do to clogged radiator, may need to be flushed or replaced).
Make sure air flow through the out side of radiator is clear (dirt, leaves, ect..) .
Make sure fan is working properly equip t (is not running too slow). Or Manual (belt driven) fan clutch is working properly, not loose or spinning too freely?
Check for broken or cracked fan blades itself.
Check radiator cap, (no gasket tears).
Could be thermostat going bad ?
Could be coolant temperature sensor/switch (from computer) going bad?
Check radiator hose(s) (too soft, may collapse)?
In some rare cases:
Timing could be off.
Could be water pump.
Could be blown head gasket(s).
Could have cracked head(s).
ECT..............Hope this was some help???

Nissan Sentra 2001 - Overheating but no hot air

It could be just air in the system, or it could be the heater matrix just by your feet, fitted central dash, check to see if the two water pipes that go into the car from the engine compartment are hot if there is only one that is then thats your problem, but if they are both cold the problem is more to do with where the water is coming from, please let me know how you get on

I need to replace a thermosts on a 2001 Sentra GXE

Hi! yeah this might help... but your radiator does'nt dissolved much water because of formed scale deposits.... try to drain or maybe check for leaks before changing the thermostat... Thermostat don't easily broken....

Overheating

then the water pump must be bad in it .Take the rad cap off and rev motor up if it goes down the the pump is working if it spays of look at the head gasket being damaged .Check and make sure spark plugs are not wet either if one is soaked signs of a leaky head gasket

2003 Nissan Sentra Problem overheating and heater doesn't work.

does the car overheat at idle or travelling down the road? if the thermostat was not changed, thats first step. checking it is replacing it. possibly air-bound. then i would suspect a headgasket problem.
