Intermitent wipers not working properly - 2000 Ford Excursion

it could be the switch or the wiper intermitant control relay.

How would someone on the internet know the answer?

Three mechanic did something

At least they had the vehicle to test

time for wiper motor assembly..

First rewire the immobilizer to work properly ,on the ignition .
Check that the wiper motor and wiper linkage is in proper sync,and or adjust

there are several for sale on ebay for $50.00

Ok, this is a steering column issue. The wiring needs to be replaced. Shouldn't cost much at all. also, the external switch may have issues as well but, i suggest you re wire your steering column to fix this problem.

You have a motor for the front and rear washer. Check the fuses. If the intermitted wipers does not work, there is a relay under the dash near the steering colum that needs to be replaced.

More then likely, the switch arm will have to be replaced, everything that contyrols your wipers and cruise are built into that left arm.

I performed a Web search using "lincoln wiper intermittent speed box" . There were diagrams and parts showing components. You should be able to find what you need after reading your search material. I once changed out a similar part in a 1984 Ford Thunderbird. My part was hanging behind the instrument panel and about midway up in the drivers' dash cavity.

try taking a wire and ground the motor housing(alot of times they lose their ground which affects the intermitent wiper operation
