what oil did you put in should be this type Mercon or Dexron II

try going to car wash and use the degreaser spray. clean up under the car real well in that area, and under the hood. spray it all off good and watch to see where the oil leaks from.

Use dexron III mercon in that unit. I generally add lucas trans sealer and conditioner as well, because even when changing the fluid, you only are able to remove less than half of the actual amount that's in there.

Do not use 2 or 3 as it will have an adverse effect on the transmission shift. You can buy this fluid at any part store or where ever car fluids are sold. It will have a type 4 on the container. You use dexron III / mercon atf fluid in there though I always add lucas additive to give it a bit of extra body. (optional)

on the 4.0 motor Under hood, passenger side, lower engine area, rear of distributor, mounted in engine block.
on the v8 Under hood, center, rear engine area, passenger side of distributor, mounted in block.

it could be the sensor you should look at the oil pressure relief valve

No, not with out a lot of work. Electronics are most likely different on the 2 also.

LOOK AT YOUR DIPSTICK.IT SHOULD TELL YOU WHAT FLUID TO USE.BUT,THE DEXTRON3 IS MOST WIDELY USED IN ALL TRANSMISSIONS.
