Should be able to,. what does the owners manual say? Typically the transmission oil types are not as specific as one might think,. but when it comes to mercon vs other,. then you should be fine in the substitution - this would also be related to the climate and how the vehicle would be utilized (ie the sort of climate: high dist, high heat, etc)

Is there a troubleshooting manual for a 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4 Wheel Drive. 4.0 or do I need to look in a manual? I have an oil leak by the oil filter and can't find where its coming from.

try going to car wash and use the degreaser spray. clean up under the car real well in that area, and under the hood. spray it all off good and watch to see where the oil leaks from.

WHAT TRANSMISSION FLUID TO USE? FOR AUTOMATICS

Use dexron III mercon in that unit. I generally add lucas trans sealer and conditioner as well, because even when changing the fluid, you only are able to remove less than half of the actual amount that's in there.

Wate use oil for transmisson v8 grand choroky 5.2

Hello ab0d 777: My name is Roger and I will answer your question. The correct type of automatic transmission fluid is ATF type 4 fluid. Do not use 2 or 3 as it will have an adverse effect on the transmission shift. You can buy this fluid at any part store or where ever car fluids are sold. It will have a type 4 on the container. Most will say MERCON tepe 4. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
