This could be a fuse, the third brake sometimes is fused sperate than the others or the most common is the wire is broken at the brake light switch, this switch is located on the top of brake pedal on a bracket, if you follow the pedal up to top you will see the switch, hope this helps.

Check the connections on the "body harness" that is located near the hinge for the decklid.this harness,if i remember correctly,is on the driver-side of the car. Also check to make that no wire has any "bare spots"that are grounding to any metal.

2008 Dodge Caliber, brake lights don't work, only the 5 little lights on the hatch come on. I've had the brake switch replaced up under the wheel, i changed the fuse and I also replaced the bulbs.

If the brake light switch checked out ok, and there are no brake lights illuminating at all, inspect the wiring harness going from the brake switch to the bulbs themselves. There could be an issue with frayed wiring, wiring that has lost its ground, or a short/open situation.

How do you replace the rear tail light in a Dodge Caliber. Got the plastic plugs out but the light housung wont come off. Are there other fasters to remove

pull the 2 rubber plugs and the seats they are pushed into out, then on the front side on the light (by the back door not the hatch) very gently place a flat head screw driver between the light and the body panel and pull the handle on the screw driver toward the back of the car so you dont scratch the outside of the body panel... the light should pop out of the two rubber seats it sets in

How do you replace break lights in 2007 Dodge Caliber?

Look inside the rear hatch area near the very rear of the vehicle. You should find a removable panel near the brake light housing. After you carefully remove the panel, look for some plastic wingnuts that hold the light housing in, and remove them, you should not need any tools to do this. After the nuts are removed you should be able to gently remove the tail light assembly from the rear of the car. Becareful not to damage the wiring. Now look at the back side of the tail lamp assembly and look for a locking tab on the light socket. Depress the locking tab and twist the light socket about a quarter turn, then pull the light socket away from the light housing. Pull the bulb out and replace it. Then reassemble and your done.

Both bottom brake lights don't work

I believe the brake light on the hatch works off a different fuse then the taillight brakes. Double check to see if there is more then one fuse for brake lights. By pulling the fuse you changed and leaving it out, see if the hatch light comes on or not; this may answer at least one question if it is one of the fuses. If your running lights in those bulbs are coming on; you probably have a good ground, if not it may be a loose ground wire.

2007 Dodge Caliber backup lights not working

Check the fuse for the back-up lights. Also, check the bulbs themselves.

The break lights dont work.

Are you sure it is a bulb issue, if all the brake lights are not working chances are it may be a brake light switch which is located on the brake pedal assemly.
If it's the bulbs, there are two screws holding each rear light assembly in place, open the hatch, they are on the hatch side of the lights, remove the screws and then the light will come free, to reove the sockets just rotate them and they will come out. pull the bulbs out and reverse all the steps.
If you need a switch, let me know, I'll give you the steps for replacement.
Good luck
