Question about 2006 Mazda Tribute
SOURCE: 2001 mazda tribute starts to
sounds like a plugged catalytic converter/ or muffler. check air flow from tail pipe should be able to feel alot press. on hand listen for hissing soung like its having hard time comming out make sure e-brake not frozen/all wheels spin freely.

#1 cylinder is on the back of the motor first one to the ritght. On the driver's side. the cylinders go 1,2,3 fromright to left on the back of motor as stand facing the vehicle and 4,5,6 left to right in the front of the motor as you face the vehicle. Hope you understand what I'm telling you.

Sounds like it could possibly be a vaccume problem, the computer sees that the vaccume has a low pressure and thus fludding the engine, or visa versa, it's seeing too high of a pressure and cutting the fuel comsumption to a minumum enough to make the engine sputter and die.. Does this happen when the cars in Netural or Reverse or Park? Just Drive?

My friend, I dont know what is wrong but I would be surprised if it is battery caused. Something has corrupted your computer. You may need a professional to check this problem out.
