How do I get dried paint out of carpet

if it is on the SURFACE like a brush of paint then sandpaper will break it up. if its really thick, try using some Naptha or Paint thinner and a rag. get the rag wet and rub like mad on the paint. Please use a glove since chemicals are absorbed into your skin otherwise. Naptha (tolulene) is cancer causing and I speculate paint thinner is too.

3.4L Cold start problem--slow cranking/firing--below freezing, now it is around 0

May need a bigger battery if cranking speed is too slow. Thinner oil helps some (like mobil 1) might even consider an engine heater, they are pretty cheap and really work great, saves the engine also. The fuel line deicer is a wise move, especially with the new gasoline these days.

Smoke blue

Check what thickness your oil is that your using. My Sonata was blowing blue smoke during winter & it was because i was using the 50W thick oil so i changed it to a 30W which is a thinner oil & the smoke stopped. But use the thicker 50W during summer. If this doesn't help, you might have a burnt valve(s) or your rings have gone! Goodluck anyway. :)

Line that carries freon. What does it look like?

It is an aluminum line that goes from the firewall to the compressor--this is the low pressure or return line. There is a second smaller line that goes from the firewall to the radiator--this is the high pressure line. The system is charged using the smaller port on the larger, low pressure line. The port looks like the valve on a tire, but is larger. There is a similar port on the high pressure line, but it is larger yet, and your recharge hose will not fit on it. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

I lost my Owners Manual and I need to know what kind of oil I need to use for an oil change- 10W-30 or 10W40?

Either one is fine, one is a little thicker.
Then the multigrade motor oil was made.....multi grade means: a different viscosity (thickness)when cold & hot. *Why use a multi grade oil? Because the first number 20w / 10w /5w / 0w is the viscosity of the oil at startup/ cold temperature which lubricates better on start up getting to places the thicker oil wont on startup - when the motor starts to warm up then you have the second number eg. if your oil is a 10w-30 the motor starts up with the oil thinner at 10 weight and as it warms up to operating temperature its thicker to 30 weight. The reason it has thicker oil is to handle the heat etc. Now on a 80Farenheit day / 30 degree C day that thickness may change a bit but it still thinner than the 30 at startup.

Front axel on 98 jeep cheerokee, vacuum line is just hanging, where does it go, I see it plugged in to axel, but wshere doe other end plug

If its about 3/8" thick and attached directly to the axle tube it's the vent line which belongs tucked up on the firewall. It usually has a little vented cap on it. Don't close it off or you will push seals out of the differential from pressure buildup. other vaqcuum lines go to a control unit on the right side../it didn't come from there did it? Those lines are thinner.
