Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette

My 2000 Olds Silhouette with 150k also had its low oil pressure light come on and is dinging. Any ideas of extent of problem and solutions.

Quite a few of these vans had issues with the instrument panel cluster causing this problem. There is an updated program to recalibrate the cluster to not set the low oil pressure light on. Go to a GM dealer and have them reprogram the IPC.

How many miles on engine? How often do you change oil? Used this shop before? Used same type of oil always? Best would be to install mechanical pressure gauge to see what is going on.

Oil light comes on and is dinging.

The oil light has nothing to do will oil level, but rather oil PRESSURE. If the engine oil is full and there is no rattling or banging noises in the engine, chances are the oil pressure sending unit is bad. If noises accompany the light, then shut down the engine and troubleshooting the engines internal lubrication system.

Low engine oil light on after fresh oil change

I am going to assume you have checked the oil level to make sure the engine has enough oil.
If it really is a warning light for low oil it could be that the shop knocked the wire off the sensor.
If it is the warning light for low oil pressure, it could be the sensor or you could really have low oil pressure and still have plenty of oil.

maybe you damged the oil pan or something DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR. have the oil level checked and determine WHY the light is on. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR. you may ruin the engine.

I own a 2000 Chyrsler Voyager 3.3 liter-V6 which is just about to roll on 120k miles. Two weeks ago my oil light would come on and ding repeatedly when I came to a stop at random times. I got an oil change...

Two possibilities, either you have a bad oil sending switch or you may have an oil pump that has worn out. I would try to replace the oil pressure sensor first, it's the easiest and cheapest.

2000 Olds Silhouette airbag light came on and won't go off. I found 1 possible solution - disconnect the SRS fuse and then clean the connector terminal under the driver's seat. Did that but didn't work.

You need to get the codes to proceed.

2000 olds Silhouette I have tired reseting the oil change reminder, by pushing down the gas pedel three time. I have tried going slow and fast. It won't reset. any ideas?

precedure:
1. turn ign key to "ON" (engine off)
2. push accelerator pedal fully to the floor and slowely release 3 times within 5 seconds
3. turn ign off
4. start light should be off

Possibly fuel filter is clogging.Replace it.Have fuel pressure checked first to make sure it's up to specs.
