P0300 is for random/multiple misfires on all cylinders. There may be a vacuum leak into the intake manifold, a stuck or leaky EGR valve, low fuel pump pressure or faulty fuel pressure regulator, an alternator that isn't working properly, or a clogged fuel filter---there are more possibilities but they get pretty exotic.

GMC Sierra Code P0300 Check engine light

GMC Sierra with the code P0300 Q: I have the 2003 GMC Sierra with the code P0300. What could be the problem? A: The code P0300 means "Random Cylinder Misfire". This means that the engine computer has detected that one or more of the cylinders misfire randomly. This code could take some time to diagnose, as there could be a wide range of reasons for the engine cylinders to misfire. Here are just a few examples: bad spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap/rotor, bad fuel injectors, bad airflow sensor, broken or weak valve spring, leaking valve, low fuel pressure, manifold gasket leak, clogged catalytic converter, etc. Take your truck to a knowledgeable mechanic and have it check out - driving with the misfiring engine can damage your catalytic converter.
The mechanic can scan the engine computer with the scan tool and see the conditions when the misfire happens and check which cylinders are misfiring. A number of of other things will need to be checked to find the cause (e.g vacuum leaks, exhaust back-pressure, compression, etc.).

Why the loss of power and po300 code?

HARD TO SAY WITH OUT BEING THERE BUT THIS MIGHT HELP .
Crankshaft sensor Was the trouble with my 99 Chevy truck after replacing many components like coil cap rotor wires and so on .
http://www.obd-codes.com/p0102 Code P0300 Causes and Fixes Code p0300 is a code that is generated when your engine has a misfire that is not related to only one cylinder. Sometimes this code will be set in addition to other codes such as p0301 which means that there is a misfire on cylinder 1 (cylinder 1 is the number one cylinder when looking at the firing order. It is generally the forward most cylinder on the engine.). If these engine codes are present as well the you should diagnose those first as they are probably causing code p0300.
This code will set your check engine light and needs to be fixed as soon as possible. If it is not then you will probably need to replace your catalytic converter as well as the problem that is causing your misfire.
There are many causes for this obd code. Since it is a "random misfire" or "multiple misfire" this means that the misfire is on different cylinders and not just one all the time.
Common Causes
  • Low Fuel Pressure
  • Vacuum Leak
  • EGR system malfunction
  • Internal Engine Problems (such as low compression)
Less Common Causes
  • Faulty Coil
  • Faulty Spark Plugs and/or Wires
  • Camshaft or Crankshaft sensors
  • Ignition module
  • Computer

You've probably got a break/split in your fuel line, and your computer is reading that as a misfire (likely due to insufficient fuel pressure).

Check Engine Light

have you ever changed the plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap?it just may need a tune up. check under the cap for any signs of electrical corrosion or cracks or moisture, when was the last time the engine oil was changed? sludge in a engine will also trigger codes which will give you a check engine light even something as simple as a loose gas cap or a worn gasket on the gas cap will trigger a code

Misfire in 97 voyager,P0300 and P0304,HELP! Need 2 get inspection

I'd have fuel pressure checked, and at the very least, replace fuel filter. Not unusual to get multiple misfire codes due to low fuel pressure, thus starving cylinder(s), and causing the misfire code(s).
