The headlights and interior lights were on the mercury Marquis 2000 in my driveway when I got home last night. Car was locked, and had not been turned on for at least 2 or three months now. The lights turned off, and then came back on again. Inside, lights were set to timer. I tried to turn car on, but battery got weaker and weaker. Please let me know If you have any idea of what the cause of this was. :) Thank you so much. Dijanna :)

SOURCE: Parking and dash light wont turn on. Headlights will turn on.

Sounds like the the parking light fuse blew.Under the dash there is a fuse block.you will see fuses there and remove the fuse to see if blown. If so replace with same type fuse.Anymore questions will be glad to help you...

SOURCE: headlights and interior dash lights flickering mercury marquis

while this occurs; do you hear clicking near your right foot area while sitting in the drivers seat? it may be heard very faint (you may have to remove the sound barrier panel under the dash first. Does this problem only happen with "Automatic" lights? Does it happen while in the parking lamps position? I wish to suggest the light switch itself, or the connector at that switch may be loose, or the negative supplying the switch could be loose. But more likely, you should check for a defective BCM, or loose connections to it, located between the lower left of the ash tray area and the accerator petal area (the relay inside on the circuit board may have a bad solder connection to it) ... or the relay inside is bad period.

SOURCE: location of headlight relay on 1993 mercury grand

that is caused by a "circuit breaker" not a relay. when it starts flashing, carefully go over the harness from the firewall to the rf headlamp, there is a short somewhere.

SOURCE: where are the spark plugs located on a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis

There are eight COPs (coil-on-plugs) to remove. Using a 7mm or 9/32" socket, remove each bolt securing each COP to the intake manifold on top of the engine. Remove all eight COPs, and the spark plugs are underneath. When replacing the spark plugs, use only the proper Ford/Motorcraft plugs, even if they cost twice as much as the aftermarket ones. You will avoid further headaches this way. Hope this helps.

Replaceing the interior lights on Grand Marquis

Hi
Most interior lights will just pop out and can now be replaced with much brighter, long lasting led bulbs.

Try to get a slim screwdriver to the side of the dome and gently twist. Do not be ham fisted or you will break the dome.

Need to replace both front turn signal light bulbs on a 2000 mercury grand marquis. How?

Pop the hood, there is a tray that sits over the radiator, if the locks are still intact, twist them until the tray comes free, (There should be 3 plastic locks) remove the tray. Now you have access to the lights. There is an orange plug on both sides (L&R Headlights). Turn the plug until it frees up, then slide plug out of headlamp fixture. Then simply pull the bulb out and replace with new bulb.
