No they don't, the cases look the same but they have part numbers, so the internal parts and how the trans is operated is different. Here are the part numbers. Many of the big parts may interchange.

Tribute Trans # Ford LA4A-EL 4 Spd. Automatic Transaxle

Ford Escape # Ford CD4E 4 Spd. Automatic Transaxle

Loud whining noise especially on exceleration in 2010 Mazda Tribute

A loud whining noise on acceleration in a 2010 Mazda Tribute could be a sign of a few different issues. Here are some potential causes:
  1. Power steering pump: A whining noise can be an indication of a failing power steering pump. The noise may increase when the steering wheel is turned.
  2. Alternator: If the whining noise increases with engine speed, the alternator may be failing. This is because the alternator is responsible for charging the battery and powering the car's electrical system.
  3. Transmission: A whining noise during acceleration could also be a sign of transmission issues, such as low transmission fluid levels, worn bearings, or a damaged gear.
  4. Differential: A whining noise that increases with speed could also be a sign of a failing differential. This is the part of the car that transfers power from the engine to the wheels.
It's important to have a professional mechanic diagnose and fix the issue to prevent further damage to your vehicle.

Location of automatic transmission drain plug on a 2008 Mazda Tribute

If there is a drain plug, it will be on the bottom transmission pan. If no drain plug, the transmission is drained by loosening the pan bolts and lowering one end of the pan till most is drained. Then remove the pan.

Mazda tribute 2003 transmission not working. i can move the into D 2,1 R but car wont move an inch

since you had a water mixed with transmission fluid, the only thing I personally believe that is no need to continue playing with as the water is the worst enemy of the automatic transmission. makes all the o rings to expand and corrosion . It happened to me a while ago and I reconditioned the Gear box.

When slowing down & stopping 2005 Mazda tribute sputters and dies

Sounds like it could possibly be a vaccume problem, the computer sees that the vaccume has a low pressure and thus fludding the engine, or visa versa, it's seeing too high of a pressure and cutting the fuel comsumption to a minumum enough to make the engine sputter and die.. Does this happen when the cars in Netural or Reverse or Park? Just Drive?
