Question about 2003 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab

I had the same problem. If it it is a straight drive there is a switch on the clutch pedal. It can be depressed far enough to disengage the clutch and still not activate the switch. You can bypass directly from the positive termainal on the battery to the wire going to the starter to test. However, if you leave that connected the clutch will activate the starter every time you depress it all the way. I replaced the relay module after determining that everything else was working. No problems since. (it is a pain to remove that starter -- but I guess you know that now)

I would suggest investing in an inexpensive digital mutimeter and do some testing. Hook it in-line with the hot cable from the battery. You want to be reading amps, not volts. That should give you a reading immediately of some current being used. While it's hooked up, start pulling fuses, one at a time. if that doesn't stop the current draw, replace it and pull the next one. Eventually you'll find the circuit that is drawing down your battery. From there, you have to check individual items in that circuit.

Hello! The Inhibitor relay is more than likely not pulling...If the vehicle is an automatic the selector switch passes battery when in park on a yellow wire to the relay...If a standard the clutch switch passes ground...if manual, relay is called clutch interlock...located under hood...passenger side fender...Automatic...called interlock relay...drivers side fender to the right of air intake...diagram may be to small to read but I'm limited on size...Light Green wire on clutch switch supplies ground when switch is closed pulling relay...Yellow wire off gear selector switch (park) supplies battery to the inhibitor relay...Wish I knew if your vehicle was man. or auto...See if proper batt. or gnd. is present to pull relay...If proper potential is present and the relay does not pull it is defective...Send a comment...
