2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali Logo

The front and rear differentials on my 2007 Yukon Denali (72,000+ miles) have synthetic lube. My dealer recommends that the lubes be changed at about $100 each. The maintenance schedule in the owner's manual does not refer to this. Is changing the lubes necessary?

Not unless you travel in extremely dusty/sandy roads. Most ppl dont change their fluids for the life of their suvs. If you drove thru deep water often i would also change it but the front and rears are sealed and synthetic fluids is man made and takes an extremely long time to break down.

Testimonial: "Thank you! After I pointed out that the manual did not cover this, The dealer never mentioned it again. Your answer confirms my thinking. "

What do you think about replace the differential gear grease in a 2004 GMC Envoy?

The front and rear differential fluid should be changed somewhere around the 75K to 100K mile area. Use a good quality synthetic gear lube fluid, 95W.

How much will cost to replace the front diffential on the yukon denali 2003, and how long will last with the whinning sound

all depends on what shop you go to. Have you had the fluid changed in it? They also have special lube you can put in to differential's to help the shimmy, noises, and all that go away.

Escalade gear oil

Depending on which front axle, "F" axle is GM part #12378261 75W90 Synthetic gear oil, must meet GM spec 9986115
"S" axle is 80W90 gear oil GL-5 spec. I dont know how to tell you to ID which axle you have so I would recommend using Synthetic oil for both front and rear axles.
The rear axle is same as the "F" axle lube as above.
