2001 Grand Cher

Blows out cold air when defroster is on, or when you just turn on the heat, blows cold air. No leaks or smells so dont think it is heater core please help

    half of the vents do the same center right to the full right interier

    How do you fix this problem? Please assist as on my Jeep it blows the wrong temperature air on the right side :(

    When my heat is on, the right side only blows cold air, and the defrost is nearly nothing...this was for about 2 weeks. Now I get only Cold air from both sides....can anyone help??

    use blue devil to stop oil leak, now heater is blowing cold air and car running hot

My Jeep has this problem too. Looked into installing a direct wire heater just to get through the winter, but really don't want to risk frying the electrical system.

The good news is I think I know what's wrong with your heater

The bad news is you are looking at probably about $140 in parts and another $1000 in labor (Yes not a typo).

There are doors that open and close to adjust the temperature for the separate zones. The motors that move the doors are supposed to sense when they are fully open or closed and stop. The problem is the doors break in such a way that the motor that drives them doesn't stop and they snap right off the shaft they are poorly mounted on. Jeep is aware of the problem. They described a fix to the poor design in a technical service bulletin #24-001-04 (apparently released in Jan '04). There is a quick and free way to test the climate control module.

Go to this website http://en.allexperts.com/q/Jeep-Repair-817/2008/7/2000-Jeep-GC-poor.htm it describes the procedure (takes about a minute to do) and decodes the fault code(s).

If you are brave or really good at taking apart cars you can go to this website http://www.wjjeeps.com/hvac_sub_assembly.htm to get the procedure to R&R the climate control module yourself and maybe save yourself a grand. Might cost you some down time though as it involves removing the whole dashboard (FOLLOW WARNING INVOLVING DISABLING AIRBAG!!!)

Im not sure sounds like my problem but my 2001 grand ch.does it only from the right half of the vents .i heard it was the code p0161 o2 2/1 heater circuit oxygen sensor heater element malfunction code p0158 o2 2/2 shorted high oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above the normal operating range

2012 mustang having no heat and no hot defroster. It blows just fineto vents, defroster and floor, but only cold air! When i change controls to floor only and press gas, after a bit i feel a little warmer...
Make sure radiator is full of coolant, this system heats the vehicle, also if you can smell coolant it may be a bad or leaking heater core? Hope this helps?

Dodge durango 2001 fogging up windows not defrosting
It's most likely your heater core that is causing the problem it could be leaking either from the core it's self causing anti freeze to get into your vents or from one of the hoses leading to it.....I am assuming that when your heat is on there is a dampness in the air this is what is causing the windows to fog up.

Air conditioner blows cold but fades out after awhile. Throw the selector to defrost mode and it blows cold again. Turn the selector from defrost back to normal and it either does not come on or fades out...
it think you are freezing out, try cleaning the condenser coils

Heat works on driver side, passenger side blows cold air.
Did you check your coolant level or was it low and you added to it at some point? If so the system my need to be bleed or worst case the thermostat is going bad.
