How can i get my factory radio to work...turns on for a few minutes then turns off on its own

i dont think the 94 cars had the anti-theft feature."asking for code"
its dead in all modes, ?
Am/FM , Cassette, or CD
when dead the dial is dead, station scans dead too.

if totally dead, that is a loose or bad Radio fuse
or if not, bad radio. time to upgrade, no?

Locate timing belt and water pump on a 94 geo prism

old post,
the prizm is a toyota.
they had 3 engines.
see this page, for links to all you need to know.

your engine sides sideways. FWD car.
this fact makes service hard. unlike RWD cars. and trucks.
the crank pulley and pump are on the right side (drivers perceptive)
seen left, facing engine bay.
http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/1934/1881/29833440036_large.jpg?v=0

see the top of engine, that is the valve cover
look to the left
see that wider part, that is the cam cog and belt side.

what you really need are all the instructions on how to do this
and not mess it up;.
the steps are covered, fully
at
alldata.com
just log in , and read engine chapter under timing belt service.
its like 50 steps.

http://www.fixkick.com/PRIZM.html

see links and facts above.
the first step is to find out what engine is in your car.

94 geo prism

I suggest you try one of those instant download manuals.
My brother ( a mechanic) buys when he can't fix some technical issue with the manual at www.reliable-store.com . A lot of mechanics actually do this. Website is very good for this. Must try it !!
