Just replaced valve covers on Nissan Maxima 2002 due to misfire. Now it smokes and burns oil every start? What's should I do .

If is is only smoking when you first start it up. Most likely the valve guide seals, oil is leaking into the cylinders and smoking when you start it up.

Idle rough no acceleration

Is the check engine light on/flashing? You may have a cylinder misfire causing a rough idle and poor hesitation like acceleration

Flashing SES, P0305, and P1145

A flashing SES light means that you are operating the vehicle under conditions that are DESTROYING your catalytic converters! This is not good.

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0305 is defined by SAE J2012 as "Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected".

DTC P1145 is a "manufacturer-specific code" and is defined by Nissan as "Bank 2 Intake Valve Timing Control Position Sensor - High Or Low Voltage"

So, to put it simply, you need to find out WHY cylinder #5 is misfiring and get it fixed. You also need to diagnose the intake valve timing control position sensor circuits on bank 2 to (1) find out if the voltage is HIGHER or LOWER than specification (since the code itself is not specific about which it is). And (2) find out what is CAUSING the voltage to be out of specification and take the appropriate action correct it.

Engine Code 67 - cylinder 2 misfire

HI, this could be three things here causing this misfire. One, it could be a bad plug that. Two, the wire could not be getting the right current flow from the distributor/coil. Three, you could possibly have a bad valve spring that is not preforming up to specs, causing the cylinder to combust in a unstable state. i woudl check the above areas.

please rate and god bless.
