First check the battery especially with BMW if its low there is a safety feature which will prevent it from starting even though the light may still be working. If the battery is ok check fuzes and the. The starter motor. Hope this helps. Jim...

Check the battery like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.
If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
Check that the battery cable plus post, goes to the starter, Minus post to a good ground, like the engine.
If wiring is ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection.
Problem is most likely the Solenoid or starting relay, whichever the car uses.
Hope this helps.

By "won't fully turn over," do you mean it cranks slowly, or that it cranks normally (fast), but won't start? Does it even stutter, as if it is trying to start, or does it simply crank and crank with no change in the sound? If I am interpreting what you said correctly, then you may simply have drained the battery, and now it is turning over too slowly to actually get the car to start. If possible, get someone qualified to jump start it and see if that works. If so, then you will need to have the battery re-charged, or at worst replace it. I hope it turns out to be simple/low cost.

Suggest you look at battery 1st Remove Earth cable normally + sign, check the cable connection to the battery is clean inside & wire brush the battery where the cable fits see if that is your problem, only other thing is the battery no longer holding it's charge IE: you may need new battery. Best Wishes, Malcolm Campbell.

Starting/Electrical problems

could be a bad ignition switch. you need a volt meter or at least a test light, to see if you are getting juice to the starter while the switch is in the start position, you should have around 12.6 volts going to the starter

sounds like a starter problem. You need to have an experienced mechanic evaluate your car. You may have an electrical problem that is depriving battery power to the starter. Or it simply may be a bad starter. Once again you need to have a mechanic who is knowledgable with electrical diagnosis evaluate your cars system. hope this helps.
