The Oil Pressure switch is notorious for going bad on Dodge truck. I recently change out my oil pump on a 5.2 L engine only to find that I had a faulty switch. The switch for a 5.2L is only 16.99 at autozone and is less time consumming than replacing the oil pump.

2004 Dodge ram 2500 oil pressure drops to zero everyday. This has been going on now for 4000 miles. New sending unit is $47.00 at Autozone.
oil pressure gauge comes on and I am going through abnormal amounts of oil in the truck everyday but cannot isolate a leak
2005 ram 1500 oil pressure goes from normal to 0 with no noise or rattle in engine. started all at once.
