2000 Ford F250 Supercab-Engine light comes on even after you reset it. No code shows up when you scan it.

Hi, if your car engine light comes on and after connecting it to the computer it looks o.k, then you should try reseting the engine light by remove the positive battery cable from the battery post and leave it off for about five minutes. Then, reattach the battery cable to the battery. You can do this with a basic 1/2-inch or 9/16-inch wrench. Removing the battery cable will reset the "Check engine" light as long as there is nothing serious wrong with the engine.

If the check engine light is turn on, I suggest scanned the PCM to know excalty what fault code is stored there. Several items to check, but with this code number could send specific details.

The procedure for resetting the oil change light is in your owners manual. If you don't have the manual try this. Turn key on (do not start engine) and push the gas pedal to the floorboard 3 times within 5 seconds. Turn key off and restart the truck. Light should be reset now.

Go to Autozone or Oreillys and get a free scan on the codes. This should show what is wrong and the autoparts store will have the parts and pictures of their location.

Check engine light with no codes usually means a PCM reset is happening. EBP shorting, ICP shorting, aftermarket "performance chip". PIDS need to be monitored to eliminate sensors. IDMs (Injector Driver Modules) can also cause this. IDM's are separate from the PCM/ECM (engine computer).

I'd be tempted to take that snap on scanner to the mvi and show them.....their unit may need a calibration.

You are setting a trouble code on engine problems, have truck scanned to find error. Trans. will go into safe mode in this instance and this is why shifts hard.
